Beep. Beep. Beep.
My alarm is going off waking me from my dream. Its the same dream I've had every night for the past two weeks. I walk to the bathroom to get a shower as I try to shake off the horror in my dream. When I get out I hear my sister pounding on the door. "Kiya, come on I need to hurry up before I'm late" Madison yells. " Just I minute Madi" I say as I wrap a towel around me and open the door. Madi rushes into the bathroom. Today is the first day of school and I'm finally a senior in high school.
When I get to my bedroom I open my closet to grab my outfit. I had promised Brandi, my best friend, that I would meet her before homeroom to compare schedules. As I run out of my room " I call into the kitchen to let Mum know that I leaving. I will be home around 3, I have to stop and get my schedule from work" I grab my coat and keys before running to my car.
I pull into the school parking lot and park in my normal space. Brandi runs up to my car before I can even get out. "Kiya! I've missed you so much." she says as she hugs me. " I missed you too. How was Ireland? You didn't send me any pictures." I tell her how much that I missed her and I would fill her in later on my usual trip to Ireland every summer to visit my father's parents, once she lets me go. We walk up to office to get our schedules.
"Brani, Kiya!" I hear someone Calling our names and turn around. "Drake! I thought you moved to London with your dad?" Brandi asked. Drake has been my best friend since kindergarten. "I was. But I convinced my parents it would be better me to stay and finish school here" he answers. He gives me a hug before continuing. "Guess who I ran into earlier? Diana James."
I look up from my phone. "What?!" I ask not being able to hide my surprise. "I thought she was expelled last year!" When I looked at Brandi I saw anger clouding her face. Diana was once Brandi's best friend before the accident last spring. "Why did they let her back!! Expelled means you don't come back." She shouts. Brandi then runs down the hall after Diana. " I better get her. Before she gets in trouble" Drake says running after Brandi.
I'm left alone to go to home room. I sigh as I shut my locker door. When I turn the corner I run into another kid. "I sorry" I say looking up to the boy I ran into. I look him over and notice how unbelievable cute he is. "It's alright. I wasn't looking where I was going." He says in a thick australian accent. "And how cute the girls are here." I blush when he commented on my looks. "I'm Michael. And you are?" He asked me. "Ki-Kiya. My name is Kiya." I answer.
"Kiya? That's a pretty name. Are you from Wales?" Michael asked. I blush, again. How did he know m from Wales? "Y-yes. How did you know? Not that many people can tell." I say to him. Michael started to laugh. I stared at him blankly. "What's funny?"I asked getting angry with myself for letting him get to me. "Nothing. I could recognize the accent because I live in Watford a year. I'll see you later Kiya. I'm late for class." He says walking past me. I look at most watch and see that I'm going to be late for homeroom info don't hurry up.
The whole day was a blur for me. All I kept thinking about was Michael. He is so different then the rest of the boys in school, I thought. I completely forgot about class until the bell rung waking me from my thoughts. I made my way to the music room like I always do at the end of the day. As I got to the door I heard some one playing a song that sounded really good. It was a song I heard on the radio before Amnesia by 5 seconds of summer.
I peek in the doorway I see 4 boys playing instruments. One of the boys turn around and see me. "Kiya! " Michael calls to me. The other boys turn to where I'm hiding. "Mikey, who's Kiya?" the blonde boy asked. I step out of my hiding spot and go into the music room. "Hi. I'm Kiya." I say shyly. "Oh. I'm Luke. Thats Calum" Luke says pointing to a dark hair. "And I'm Ashton." the boy playing the drums says quickly. I just look at them until Michael says that they should go get something.
