I had just told my mother that I got accepted into Colorado State University (CSU), and she didn't care one bit. I figured that she would at least attempt to care, but I guess I was wrong. My name is Melanie but I go by Mel. I'm an 18 year old girl from Denver, Colorado. Anyways, I'm leaving in less than 24 hours to head off to college. Sounds so exciting, right? I actually need to start packing my bags now that I'm thinking about it. On my way to my room I ran into my mother.

"hello Melanie"

"hello mother"

"where are you going?" she asked with the least bit of kindness

"um I'm going to my room to pack my things?"

"alright, get out of my face."
I hurriedly ran off to my room to start packing my things.
"oh what to pack what to pack? something that'll look cute but not too revealing.. ah I know!" I rummaged through my closet and found some of my old band t-shirts, and along with those I found a couple pairs of my favorite skinny jeans.
While packing my clothes I noticed my dog Champ was on my bed so I decided to take a small break and love on him. "Hi my little baby. how's my Champ doing huh?" I smiled to myself as he wiggled his tail and jumped up in my lap. "you sure are the only thing that makes me happy. Good thing I have you because I don't need anybody else."

*NEXT DAY*

I woke up early in the morning from my alarm clock going off. "Sometimes I just wish I could bust that thing." I sleepily mumbled to myself as I rubbed my face. I got out of my bed, accompanied by Champ, and walked into my bathroom as I got undressed to take a hot shower. Once I stepped in, my muscles relaxed immediately, causing me to let out a long sigh. I stood in the shower for a while before washing my hair, along with my body. I got out and wrapped a towel around my body just to protect myself from the coolness of the air. I walked into my closet and decided to wear some black high waisted shorts along with my white and black stripped crop top. I walked into my bathroom once again and brushed my teeth, then I decided on how I would fix my hair. Blow drying it first of course, I then decided I'll straighten it and then put it up into a pony tail. I decided I would eat some breakfast and then take Champ out for his morning walk. I decided on an apple for breakfast today. Normally, I would make me some bacon and eggs, but I thought something a little healthier wouldn't hurt. I called for Champ as I was putting my converse on. Once he met me downstairs, I put his collar and leash on him as we both walked out the door. I had only a couple of hours before I had to leave to make my way to college so I decided to spend them with Champ. Oh, how I was gonna miss my baby. About 45 minutes later I decided we had walked long enough and so then we journeyed back to the house where I realized my mother had already left to go who knows where.

Once I had my bags packed, I decided I would at least write my mother a note just to let her know I had already left to be on my way to college. I gathered my bags (which was most of the items in my room) and put them in the trunk and backseat of my silver Chevy Impala. I decided on having my dad keep Champ while I was away, just until I could get a job and small apartment. now that I've gotten everything ready to go, I'll take Champ to my dads.

I pull into my dads driveway and instantly smile at the homely feeling I get from just looking at it. I get Champ into my hands and walk up to the front door, knocking not to loudly, but loud enough for them to hear. As if on cue, my dad opens the door with a warm smile and instantly lays his eyes on Champ. I knew he'd be well taken care of.

"hi my little Mel"

I giggle a little and say "hi dad"

He extends his arms and takes Champ as he softly pets him. "He'll be taken care of, I promise."

I smile and nod, knowing he will be. My dad and I soon bid our goodbyes as I was on my way to college. I feel my stomach start to get all bubbly and for a minute I thought I was going to have to pull over just to throw up, but thankfully, it just stayed a bit bubbly.

After a while of driving I seen a sign that made the bubbles come back. And there it was right in front of me,
