"Once upon a time... "
So many out of this world stories start with a "Once upon a time...". But what use is a "Once upon a time..." when youre just talking about life.
I dont want a once upon a time.
My day started out like any other. The only problem with that sentence is that is wasnt just another day. This day is my birthday. My 18th birthday.
And so i guess a lil' backstory might be fucking necessary if y'all wanna understand why thats so important.
As long as we can trace back in history, people have been marked with names, appearing on your 18th birthday on your most dominant hands wrist. After mass experimentation it was found that the person who's name apears on you is your soulmate, but of course fate couldnt just leave it at that shit.
Fate had to go throw in a few added affects for all the special fucking snowflakes that cant deal with just having a name.
So when ever you meet your soulmate you get some sorta special thing to share with them.
For my parents, whenever they touch it leaves a mark of a random color, it goes away after a few seconds, fortunately.
My friend Emaan met her soulmate Thomas in front of a church, and I'll be damned if they don't hear fucking church bells when they made eye contact. And then theres little ole' me, who I'm betting at this point youre probably thinking is against all this utter bull crap going on around her.
Well, I'm Haley Lynn Musial. Closet romantic, and very much looking forward to her soulmark.
My life didnt really start until today. So i guess this is my life.
