chapter 11: Siren (Ashley K.)

(Ashley Khan's P.O.V.)

I love my new life. My old one consisted of insults and feeling like I'm worthless. sure they would tell me that they love me when we are in public, but at home when no one was around they would treat me like trash.

What sucked most about my old life was my sister, Eliza. she was adored by my parents. she could do no wrong in their eyes. They would treat her like she was amazing, like God's gift to man, and as if she did everything at home, which she didn't!

Sorry but it just always gets me mad that they think of her as the perfect person,when she really isnt.
Anyways when I found out about what I was, let's just say that I was happy to be different. Here is my story.

(Location: Buffalo, NY. Time: May 13, 2015)

I was with my family, on our way to this thing for my sister, when it happened. I was in the front seat of my sisters car trying (and failing) to not pay them any attention, but these people know how to piss me off.

"Hey, 'shley. I need you to do something for me." Said my very annoying sibling

"What do you want Eliza?" I asked

"I need you to go into that glove compartment and look for some papers." She said.

So I did what she said. I opened up the compartment, but I couldn't find the papers that she was looking for.

"Umm, Liza?" I new that this had to be a joke. She couldn't be serious.

"Yeah 'shley?" Dear God please let this be a joke.

"You wanted me to get you those papers right?"

"Yea, please hurry they are right there."

"Yea, I can see that Liza. There must be fifty thousand papers here. And they are literally all tickets. How have they not disowned your license?"

"Oh they did. I just have to wait till three more days them I can legally drive again." She said nonchalantly.

"Congrats Liza." Said my mom. Can you believe that?

" wait. Does that mean that you are driving with out the a license?" I asked. I mean come on this had to be some sort of joke.

"Well are you listening to your sister?" My dad snapped. "what do you think? why don't you pay attention to anything

were they seriously treating me like the idiot? this had to be a backwards joke. i looked at them expectantly, looking to see if they were gonna be mad at Eliza for DRIVING without an actual license. no such luck.

"ok fine i'm sorry liza, but can you please elaborate as to what papers are you looking for?" i said, trying to get over the fact that my parents just looked at me like i was stupid.

" yeah, it had something to do with a final notice for a job, or something like that. i don't really remember but it was a olive garden paper. oh it might be in an envelope." she said. i swear to god that sometimes this girl is really annoying. she is soooo unorganized, that she would probably lose her head if it wasn't attached to her body.

i looked through the papers and finally found the envelope. she was right that it was a letter from olive garden, but it wasnt a job offer. it was a letter saying that she had won a raffle and the prize was 4 free meals. wicked huh?

"found it," i said "it was a free meal thing. here you go." i tried handing it to her but the i got yelled at.

" don't hand it to her, are you crazy? she's driving! here give it to me." said my mother. ok i admit that was pretty dumb of me.

so i handed the paper to my mom and then waited for my family to say something. they stayed quiet for a while but i couldn't take it. i had to be doing something. so i about to text my best friend in the world. Angel A. Shadowheart. but as i took out my phone, there was a flash of white that blinded me and all i could here was the breaks of the car...

i woke up to the sounds of waves crashing against a beach...

"huh? where am I?" i asked myself. there was no one around so i couldn't ask anyone. i looked on to the shore line and remembered something. We were in buffalo. we were land locked but i some how managed to land on a beach with no other land in sight. i got up and i looked around. there didn't seem to be any form of life anywhere, other than a couple of crabs and the vegetation.

out of the corner of my eye i saw something move, something that i didnt see before. it was a weird thing that looked like a dog with a fish tail. It howled at me, and bared it's fangs. It stood on its hind legs and it showed the rest of its physical traits.

Standing the way it was, it seemed about 6 feet tall. It had the body of your average werewolf, but with a couple different features. It had a final going down its back, but not like a dolphin fin, it was more like a sea serpent looking fin. It also had webbed fingers and a shark tail.

"Woah," I said. "That's one ugly puppy."

Then I heard a growl behind me. The was this tiger type thing.... I don't really know how to describe it. It looked like a werewolf, but like a tiger instead of a wolf.

All of this was to wierd, but it only got weirder. The aqua-wolf or merwolf, got on all fours and started circling me! I turned around and I saw the were-tiger and it was doing the same. Then I saw it, they weren't looking at me. They were staring at eachother!

The creatures snarled at one another and they didn't seem to notice me, then I realized somthing. I haven't moved at all since I saw them. They must only see through motion, which means I have two options. I either make a run for it and risk them coming after me, or I can let them run forward and risk them attacking me now. Whatever option I take they might attack me, so I decided to make a run for it.

I was about to run when the both creatures stood up. The aqua-wolf bared it's fangs, and the were-tiger showed it's claws. At that moment they both lunged forward in hopes of getting the first hit, how wrong they were..

As soon as they lunged I ducked and covered my head with my hands over my head. I know what could l do by lifting my hands, but something amazing happened.....
