Neon City Chronicles

Chapter 1

Cassidy was tapping her pencil on her desk as she struggled to pay attention to her teacher, who was saying something about variables or something.
She couldn't wrap her head about the scholastic whatchamacallit that the teachers tried to force into the heads of the kids. So she rested her hand on her cheek as her cat ears drooped in bordem.

"Fucking bored....Just great" she said as she leaned back in her chair. She felt a presence behind her suddenly and leaned her head back, only to have it rest on said person's abdomen. "Oh I'm s-sorry" she said as her brain finally registered who it was, which was none other than Tevin Wolfgang. He must've been on his way back to his desk from something.

"TEVIN?!" she quietly yelped as she jerked forward in her chair, and knocking all of her papers and doodles on the floor.

"Are you okay?" Tevin asked, his eyebrow raised in confusion. For a cat girl she wasn't exactly the epitome of grace. As a matter of fact she was seen more falling than actually walking. But even though she's probably clumsier than a tipsy girl in a earthquake, she could be a great ninja...with the proper training of course.

"Y-Yeah I'm fine!" She sputtered and hastily shoved all her loose papers back into the binder and slammed it shut. "So what did you want huh?" She asked as she forced a smile. She really hated being around this idiot but hey, you can't choose your best friends.

"Well....nothing but you actually reminded me to ask you something. I was wondering if you wanted to go get some food after school. Me and a couple friends are going out and I thought it would be fun if you came to join us," he asked. He could barely hold his excitement, he could finally get her to hang out with him and it could make school go by quicker if he had something to look forward to.

Cassidy nodded her head to hide her small blush. It wasn't often that she was asked to hang out, she was usually the introvert student. Weirdly going to a school that specialized in ninjas and teamwork you'd think she would go out more.

"You know what, sure doggie boy. I don't have anything else to do." She said and trailed off at the end of the sentence.

"Goddammit you sound so desperate Cassidy!" she internally scolded but Tevin only laughed it off. She blushed and spun to hide her face, but she ended up knocking her binder off her desk again and she let out a squeaky growl of anger that made Tevin chuckle as the bell rang.

"Maybe you need to train with us sometimes" Tevin chuckled as he once again helped his friend pick her papers up yet again.

Tevin made his way off to his next class as he waved goodbye to Cassidy. She huffed and her cat ears drooped in embarrassment.

'That was the epitome of grace, what a class act' she thought sarcastically as she did her daily struggle of trudging through the halls that were somehow packed to the seams with adolescent teens. All she needed was to get to her locker and meet up with her friend Shae.

"Cassie!!" a voice called out as she was grabbed and pulled through the mass of teens. She was then pulled into a tight hug which had her head awkwardly pressed into the new person's well-endowed chest.

"Why hello T'Shae" she said though it was muffled. She didn't mind the borderline lesbian treatment that her friend usually gave her. She actually came to expect it. T'Shae Alyssa, or Shae as she was usually called, was the best female friend she had. Actually just her best friend in general. She was a stunning work of biology, she had strong yet gentle facial features, big brown eyes, brown skin and poof curly hair that she kept in a bun. She always felt less beautiful around her, but Shae always assured that Cassidy was beautiful, especially with her cat ears and tail.

"You will not believe what happened today in class. I embarrassed myself in front of Nathaniel twice today, TWICE!" Shae said as she angrily shut her locker. Her hair poof seemed to shake in anger, then she slid down her locker and pouted. Ironic they both had a crappy day with boys, go figure.
