1. The Message

Kimberly P.O.V.

- "The water is coming" - I heard a voice coming from the distance.

I was in a humid place, it felt warm but it was just the desert. Why was I in a desert? The sky was dark, even though the sun was up there, it seemed like the moon. I heard the voice again, and it was my boyfriend, Finn, he was acting weird repeating over and over,

- "The water is coming". I ran up to him, and I tried to talk to him but he just keep repeating
"The water is coming".

He was curled up in the floor, whispering to himself, but i could hear it really clear, just like an eco. But what does that mean. Maybe he is referring that it's going to rain or maybe a tsunami is about to come. Whatever it is, it's weird, how does Finn know that?. Then I heard another distant voice saying

- "Kimberly, Wake Up". I couldn't recognize who was saying but the sound keep getting closer.

I looked up to the sky, waiting for another call. Just where am I? Whats happening? I try waking up Finn from his state, but its like im not even here. The voice called again, and I recognize it. It was my sister, Penelope's voice. I looked around but Penelope wasn't around and Finn was no longer under my hands. Then, the sound became louder so loud that it started to hurt. It was a sound of alert. Those one that you just know are a warning sound. I fell to the ground and start screaming until I woke up, the sound was too sharp, too constant. Penelope was beside me when I woke up, she was okay, it was all a dream but one of the weird ones.

- "You were screaming, again" - Penelope looked at me with a tired face, she was getting annoyed with my screaming.

I felt bad and i sat on the bed. I was all sweaty again. This dream was like the ones who sort of tell you a message. Well it was just a stupid dream, and I cant get my head wrapped up again just for nothing. I took a bath, brush my teeth and put my clothes on. I ate my breakfast and then I started to make my backpack because a group of my friends, my boyfriend and I are going on a trip. A whole weeks of adventure begins. But I better hurry, because Finn was going to pick Brittany and then come for me. My sister, Veronica, help me do my things. I will miss her. In 14 years we have never separated before. But I would need to get used to it because after Vacations I'm going to study to Harvard. It was really hard getting there, but finally studying hard payed of. Then, Penelope and Brady, my big brother, entered my room. They all hug me and started to cry, but not Brady, oh no, he is too good for tears. We have never been separated before. I heard Finn's car in the street. It was time to go. I gave a hug to Penelope, Brady and Veronica and rushed downstairs to the kitchen to say goodbye to mom and dad.

-  "Be careful, okay" - my mom said to me.

- "Paola don't be dramatic, it won't be the last time you would see Kimby" - said my dad to mom.

- "Well who was the one crying all night because Kimberly was going on a trip" - said my mom to my dad, Michael.

Finn came inside to hurry me up, said hi to mom and dad and left with some of my bags. Dad then start hurrying me up. He didnt like Finn at all, though I deserved better. He said that he was a stupid black-hair-tall-dark-eyes guy but for me he was perfect, I am Finn's girlfriend since 8th grade. With him I have passed the best moments and the bad ones and I'm ready to reach the next step with him. We have some history and chemistry, I'm ready for this. My family escort me to the door. Finn was waiting by his car for me. In the back was Brittany. I wave goodbye to my family one last time. Finn started the car and my adventure began. The wind was in our faces and we were laughin. It came the moment when my ealier dream couldnt get of my mind, so I told Finn and Brittany about my dream. Finn started to laugh but Brittany got worried. I got kinda angry that Finn took this as a joke. I know the dream wasn't real, but it was real enough for me to wake up screaming and sweaty. Brittany was seen as the weirdo of the group. She was always worried about nature and everything. She was a little taller than me, she was thin but not that much, her hair was blonde and she had blue eyes. She was the smart girl of the group, even smarter than me, and that was alot to say. We stopped at Chloe's house, who was going to be with us in this roadtrip. Chloe was Brittany's best friend. She had dark hair with blue tips, brown eyes, she was taller than Brittany and thiner than me. She was the girl that everyone rejected except us. She was actually very cool and she always has cool stories to tell.

- "Britt" - I heard Chloe from the distance. After giving a hug to Brittany, she said hello to us and then we went to the meeting point, also known as the popular place in the West-Side "Don Frappe".
