The Mark of Carth

Marching with Aayla and Bly on Felucia was a nice change of pace after the day I had yesterday. Aayla served me the best Rancor this side of the outer rim! She had told me about her master, Quinlan Vos, and how she had formed an attachment towards him. And said how she was saddened that I never had that. This was the first time someone had said that to me. I mean I guess it was good because I never formed a forbidden attachment with him.

Carth and his men were marching with us to. Carth was glad Mex was out of his hair. He never liked Mex, maybe hated him. He Never liked me either. And yet something, maybe the force, compelled me to talk to him.

"Hey Carth" I said clearly desperate to talk.

"Yes Rath" he said in that battle hardened voice of his.

"Do you like the Jedi? Like at all? I mean Mex wasn't a very good impression and surely didn't help with your thoughts about them but... I.... I guess my question is have you ever met or maybe known a Jedi other than me or Mex?" I asked. Carth rubbed his scar on his face when I said this. A big gash on his left cheek.

"I have. His name was Skywalker. General Anakin Skywalker. He and his padawan requried an escort to Selucami after one of the clankers weapon dealers fled there. You and your Master were doing Jedi Business," he said master with a somewhat evil tone' "and me and my units were bored on coruscant so we escorted him there. It was a long trip. While some of the others were flirting with the togruta, I talked to Skywalker. He is a great Jedi. Strong and powerful. That's what makes a good leader." He said, obviously mocking me on how I'm so scrawny with barely any muscle at all.

"You don't have to be strong to be a good leader" I retort, annoyed at where this conversation went.

"Ah, you see we disagree what makes you a good leader. You see if we are short and weak how will we win this war. Now you understand, only people like Anakin will win this war" Carth said in a speech-like way.

I walk away, dissatisfied with our conversation. Are all clones that arrogant?! Why is he always bullying me? I never did anything to him?!  I thought. Then I realize it was Mex. It's always Mex. Always. Every time something bad happens, somehow the arrows always point to Mex. My master is a terrible Jedi if he did this to Carth. Poor Carth being  bullied this whole war. I need to think. I climb into the AT-TE trailing behind us. I sit down next to some of the other clones in Aaylas battalion.

Search your feelings, Rath. It was Mex. Mex bullied Carth just like he bullied you. Know wonder Carth told me that story about Skywalker. He couldn't wait to get as far away as possible from me and my master. He didn't like me because I was associated with Mex. My head started to throb. I fell over, off my seat onto the floor and lost myself.

That's when the vision came.

I saw a white planet. Kamino. The watery ocean planet where the clones were made. I saw... Mex! He was with a tall Kaminoan dressed in black. And they were watching a clone. A stalky clone. Mex and the Kaminoan started nodding at each other and then Mex opened a glass door and walked into the room the clone was in. He force pushed the clone away from his against the wall. He let up just enough to let the clone move his body and fall down from the wall. Only to be then shoved against the wall again with the force face first into a dashboard. Mex stopped and let the clone free. Mex left the room said something to the Kaminoan, who looked impressed, and left. I was in shock. The clone got up from the ground and turned to face me. He had the same mark Carth had. He was Carth and Mex gave him his mark. By using his powers for evil, pure evil. I never liked Mex but I didn't think he would be as bad to and abuse another person.

I awoke from my vision. With Aayla in front of me. He clones surrounded me all around me. I saw Carth in the group. I walked up to him.

"I'm so very sorry. About everything." I said to him.
