"Mia, Any updates in the front?"

I glanced up from my computer, sliding my phone under my thigh as if I had been working the entire time.
"Non have popped up sir." I answered, shooting a smile as Mr Bradley strode past my desk and towards his office.
Mr Bradley stopped and adjusted his tie outside his office door, before slipping out his key from his pocket and unlocking the door.
"Excellent, make sure to call Emma and tell her I can't make this evenings meeting at 6:30pm"
"Of course Mr Bradley" I replied.
I watched as he walked into his office, before sending a friendly smile my way and quietly shutting the door behind him. I let out a loud sigh and sunk into my desk chair, removing my now clammy phone from under my thigh and onto my mahogany desk.

Today was Friday, the most relaxed and quiet day in the office. Mr Bradley, my boss, spent most hours on Fridays at lunch meetings, of which I attended very few with him. As I was his personal assistant, I was expected to make an appearance at least twice.
Also as Mr Bradley was the most famous CEO of Bradley banking in London, so he was fucking loaded, so he spent half his day drinking away in bars with fellow CEO's of other businesses.
Occasionally, he would bring his business partners back, usually if they were female but he was a nice enough man. Not my type, but nice enough.
But it was good because all my job was to keep him up to date with his clients, and make sure he knows where he is meant to be on a day to day basis. Such fucking fun.

I heard the ding of the lift, bringing me back to reality, making me raise my eyes to the elevator doors. I watched as a tall, elegant red-haired woman walked into the hallway. Her green eyes were piercing and her make up was harshly done, giving her a constant 'pissed off' look. She made her way towards my desk and looked me up and down before showing a fake and forced smile.
"I'm here to see Patrick." She simply said, removing a strand of hair from in front of her eyes and placing it back in her slicked ponytail.
I shifted in my seat and glanced at my computer, typing in a few things before glancing back at her.
"And what's your name?" I asked.
"Eleanor. Eleanor Clarke."
I typed her name into the search bar of Mr Bradley's diary, and her name popped up on the screen, next to 4:15 Appointment.
I reached over and buzzed into Mr Bradley's office, letting him know he had a visitor.
"You may go in." I smiled at her.
She nodded and raised an eyebrow as she noticed a small stain on the sleeve of my shirt from where I had duck wrap for lunch. I glared at her, as she turned her back towards me and strutted into the office and disappearing out of my view.

The last few hours of my working day went slowly, as I sat and finished off emails needed to be sent off to other companies, arranged meetings and worked out Mr Bradley's timetable over the weekend. And finally, after what seemed like forever, the clock about the elevator read 7:30 and I could finally go home. I quickly gathered my things, shrugging on my long grey jacket and my white scarf as the October weather was taking a change of temperature, preparing for the winter months. I made sure I signed out of everything on the computer, put everything I needed in my purse and walked up to Mr Bradley's door and knocking gently.
"Come in." I heard, his voice muffled, and peered round the door.
"I'm off sir, is there anything else you need before I go?" I asked, secretly hoping he didn't need me.
Mr Bradley sat up from his slouched position on his chair and pulled down his shirt sleeves, adjusting his tie before looking at me.
"No everything's ok Mia, thank you." He smiled. I nodded and began to shut the door before he stopped me. "But I must let you know, I've got an important visitor coming Monday around 1."
I opened the door slightly and stood further in the room.
"Of course sir, do you need a restaurant booked?"
"Yes please, preferably a classy one as he's quite a upper class man." Mr Bradley said, almost annoyed at the idea. "Also I will need you there to take notes."
I tried to hide my disappointment, as I always felt so awkward just having to sit there and say nothing while they eat and talk business.
"Of course Mr Bradley."
Mr Bradley cleared his throat and leaned back again, resuming his original position.
"Okay great, that's all Mia, have a nice evening." He said, sending me a quick smile, before resuming on his laptop.
"Goodnight Sir." And I quietly shut the door and hurried over to the elevator.
