Hope you enjoy 💓

It was a cold day in late November. The weather continuously changing its patterns. With a slight blackening of wind brought a grey sky with mizzling rain joining it. Although the rain seemed to leave a nebulous trail behind it. What a great day to celebrate a sweet 16th... Yep, that's right. Mary Smith is turning 16 today.

I calmly walk down the stairs to school from a successful swim meet. The water was as cold as the middle of the deep blue ocean, reflecting the sky's image. I pulled my brand new Iphone six (Thanks mum and dad) from by bag. 5:53pm. Great... Training ran late again... A lighting flash image of the delicious cake mum brought from the bakery last night popped up. (I was having a midnight snack and I found it in the fridge. Don't judge... ) The circular shape of the vanilla and chocolate mixed sweetness, with kit-kats as the outside of the cake, guarding it like a fence. YUM!

I instantly snapped out of of daydream when I see a clown in the distance, sitting on a bus bench. That's odd... I swear I just saw a bus come past. Wait... That's the exact same clown that's been stalking me when I was little even outside my windows he would be hidden amongst the fog.

He wears a creepy smile while its eyes are struck open, face plasticized with makeup, warm red curly hair that would bounce up and down when moving. I quickly look away and try to forget about it. Searching through my bag to grab my headphones which help me escape life for a bit. I have to walk home today because I missed my bus and parents told me to make my own way home.

I stop at the traffic lights and take my headphones out. Almost instantly, I see that creepy clown right across the street from me. Maybe it's just a convenience. Maybe he might not kidnap me... Ok that did not help. I snap out of my gaze when the sound of roaring traffic comes through. Did I just miss my turn to cross the lights? Yep. I can't wait another set of light for that amazing cake to be dancing on my tongue. Just go the back way. That way you don't have to wait. I turn on my heel and decide to take the shortcut which is known to be dangerous around this time of night but hey, when you have cake at home calling for you, you have to take a risk.

I check my phone. 6:23pm. The blackness of the night slowly killing the once bright sun. Hardly anyone is around. I could potentially be the last person on earth. Until I hear the soft chuckles of children's laughter coming from behind. Jumping back, I see that clown again creeping up on me, lurking in the nearby shadows, using them as coverage. Laughing in this narrow alleyway. I turn and run. I don't care where because that certainly was not a convenience. Quickly, turning around the nearest corner while trying to look back at it. My knees and legs almost close to giving up on me. Why didn't I join the track team instead of the swim team? I come to a near stop when I break out from the backstreet. Struggling to maintain my breath, I lean against the closest solid object. I look up and see those deadly eyes again. I'm shoved against the cold dense cement. Then... blackness overpowering me into a whole another dimension.

I awake to sound of moving vehicles. My head throbbing from the impact. All the events slowly creeping back into my head I slowly and patiently get up and look around. An empty space, with a driver in the front with warm, curly hair. THE CLOWN!

I scream realizing where I am and the past events that occurred. The run, the lights and the kidnapping. We come to a sudden stop and I'm pushed up against the driver's seat. I can hear the creak of front door open and the anonymous clown gets out to open the boot. Which is where I am... WAIT! The doors flung open and he appears. He reaches out to grab me like a flash of lighting. I react and move but not as fast as I would've liked. Again, track instead of swimming! I'm swinged onto his shoulder. I pound his back with all my might. He pushes me down to stand up and were in front of a house. My house?

"SURPRISE!" Everyone yells. Lights immediately blinding me. Like waking up in the middle of the night and lights burst at you.

"Mum, dad! There's a creepy clown who kidnapped me and- OMG! Its him! Mum, it's him!" I scream at the top of my lungs pointing to the clown. I quickly run behind them and use them as a human shield.

"Marry, it's just Jobel." Dad tries to explain in a soothing voice.

"W-who's Jobel?" I strutter in high pitched voice.

"We hired him to follow you around for the week and then kidnap you on your birthday." Mum explains in depth. Laughter escapes everyone like it was held in them as prisoners.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?" I yell.

"C'mon Mary, loosen up a bit." My best friend, Lily exclaimed in a pit full of giggles.

"HAPPY 16TH BIRTHDAY MARY!" Everyone shouted.

"YOU GUYS ATE THE CAKE WITHOUT ME!" I shrieked in pure horror as I look at the empty plate. "NO!" I cried and dropped to the floor on my knees. I picked myself up and just to steal my brothers cake. Sucker.

"Wait, you guys hired him while I was in the fifth grade to, just for this!" I exclaimed with a mouth full of cake.

"Um. Honey, what are you talking about?" Dad asked.

Soon a shadowy figure appeared at the window and blackness overpowered us all...
