Darkness, that's all I saw pulling out of the parking lot of my work. There wasn't many cars parked there since it was midnight and we were closed. I pulled up my dark brown hair, that in the right light had a bright red tint to it. When it was down, It fell just below my shoulders. I put on my glasses and waved to my best friend who was getting into her car next to mine. Her deep blue, 2015 something made my 2001 something a piece of shit. I laughed softly and waved back to her, fixing my black winter coat.

"You sure you want come with me and get a drink Harley. You look like you need one." Chloe smiled, her very short dark hair falling in her eyes. After dealing with rude customers all night, all of us looked like we needed a drink in our system.

"But..." I pointed to my car and laughed softly. "Im driving and if I have a drink, I'm not just having one. You know that." I laughed softly as Lo came walking up to us, his black hair spiked a bit to the side, his tan skin always made me jealous because of my white complexion.

"What are you girls talking about?" He put his hands in his black pants and smiled at me, his eyes looking between me and Chloe. Apollo, or Lo as we all call him was our stores security and was always walking around and making sure that no one was stealing or causing a disturbance.

"Harley doesn't know if she wants to go out for a drink. Come and help me try to get her to come out with us." Chloe smiled softly and nudges Lo a bit.

"Harley can do whatever she wants to do. Go out or not to go out, that's all on herself." Lo placed a hand on my shoulder and smiled softly at me.

"I think i'll go, if I could get a ride because i'm getting plastered." I laughed as I stepped away and opened Chloe's car door and got in. She started talking a bit with Lo as I leaned back, pulling out my white HTC and saw a couple missed messages from my friend Taylor. I saw that her brother was home and that they wanted to see me and have me over for dinner in a couple days. I replied back with a smiley face and said :That would be lovely. Can't wait Tay.

Chloe got into her car and started it up. I sighed softly and held my phone to my chest and looked out the window as we pulled out of the parking lot, leaving my silver car just sitting there, lonely and without a friend. That's how sometimes I feel. I could be surrounded by people but feel so alone. My one dream was to become an actress and star in musicals and movies. I wanted to act on stage and maybe, move to acting in front of a camera. But I wasn't pretty enough or damn near talented enough to be an actress.

"What's on your mind girl. You can talk to me." Chloe smiled softly as we were heading down the road to the bar she always loved to go when we had a stressful day at work. The Green Light was the name of it.

"I know, it's just....I feel as if I'm being watched." I looked out the window and let my hair down, shaking my head. "Silly...isn't it?"

It took a bit for Chloe to answer but she then shook her head. "It's not silly Har. You just got out of a relationship with a guy who didn't care, your mind isn't with it." She placed a hand on my knee as she put the car in park.

"Look, I'm only going to have one drink and that's all." I nodded, thinking that was going to be the plan. But, fate had other options for me.

It wasn't until my fifth drink that I started to feel the slightest buzz coming on, and the guy in the corner of the room had his eyes fixated on me the whole time. I smiled at him and waved him over, thinking he wanted to talk. I could see hear and smell the cheap liquor in the air, but i didn't pay much mind. I was a single woman, and I wanted to do what I wanted. I fixed my red low cut t-shirt and walked over to the man. Chloe grabbed my hand and started laughing.

"Go get um!" she laughed and started talking to a girl at the bar that was next to her. A pretty blonde with bright green eyes. As I got closer to the man, he slowly put down his glass and stood up, his black hair almost covering one eyes as the other stared at me intently. His brown eyes were almost like a dark chocolate color.

"I'm Harley." I smiled and twirled a piece of my hair around my finger.

"Hello Harley, I'm Chris." he reached in his suit jacket and handed me a card. I grabbed it slowly and flipped it over. Christopher Marcus, talent scout. My heart nearly dropped at the card and smiled brightly.

"Your....your a talent scout!?" I squealed as he laughed softly.

"Yes Miss Harley, now I know you have a talent. Let me guess....you are a great singer and actress." He smiled as he patted a spot next to him. I sat down slowly and blushed at the words "great".

"I wouldn't say im great Mr.Marcus-" He placed a finger on my lips and smiled softly.

"Please, call me Chris." He smiled and nodded. "Continue" I shivered a bit at his touched and nodded, clearing my throat.

"Well, Chris, like i was saying. I'm not great, but i did get star roles during my high school career and tried out for Americas got talent, but didn't make it on the show." I shuddered a bit, feeling my hands get a bit sweaty.

"Well, why don't you sing a little for me. Come on. " he smiled softly . I gulped back the fear I had and stood up, walking over to the stage near the back and tapped on the mic.

"Hello drunk folks." I giggled as they all started to hoot and holler at me. I felt like this was my chance to finally shine a bit. I cleared my throat as the dj started playing the only song I could really sing well. Jar of heart. It was slow yes, but i knew that I could impress that talent scout who was smirking at me throughout the entire piece. Once the song was finally finished, I stepped off the stage and Chris was gone. All that was left was a note on the table for me.

Harley, we will meet again. I see great potential in you. If you have any questions, my number is on the card i gave you. Chris.

Slowly, I walked back to Chloe was was more gone that I have even seen her. "Come on. Im driving you home" I wrapped her arm around my shoulders and helped her to her feet.

"Home? where my puppies are?" She smiled and laughed softly.

"Yes Chloe, where your puppies are." Chloe didn't own a dog, but for some reason, she thought she did at this moment. I got her into the passenger seat and drove all the way to her house, thinking about the encounter I had with the man and his stare. He was handsome, don't get me wrong. Very mysterious but...what was it about him that made my stomach turn? I had to see him again, even if it was the death of me.
