Maybe one day
You will see
What it's like
To be with me.
You have wondered
I have too
If there was something
Like Me and You.
You know all those times
When you saw a couple walking
And your friend nudged you
To go back to talking?
You trapped a smile
You once had for real
On your face
To show how you feel.
But not everyone knows,
Not even you
That you weren't really feeling
Such a thing as true.
Then there were days
When the sadness got worse
And you wondered
If you were under a curse.
Those days you were sad,
You didn't even blink
Not even when I told you
You're not as happy as you think.
Maybe one day
I'll be courageous
And you'll think that
I am outragous.
When it's rainy
And you feel lost and alone
I'll come up to you
And offer to take you home.
But maybe just maybe
You'll then realize
That all this time
When you were in disguise,
That all you really wanted
When you were feeling blue
All you really needed
Was someone like you.
