*TOUYA'S POV CAUSE YEAH >.>*
The world still seemed to be that colorful bright place of hell, but you know, that's normal. I sat at the bayside window in my room, staring out into the abyss that was the world. The house was quiet, no sound from my sister downstairs and no sound from the pipes. It was all quiet. . .too quiet. I looked at my door, almost expecting him to crash in and hit me like he used to. Instead all I got was a tree branch banging against my window. I sighed, not being able to make any noise, and stood up to stretch. My bones cracked and popped into a comfortable state.
As I started to walk, the chain on my ankle clanked against the ground, reminding me that I looked like a prisoner. I laughed a silent laugh, before banging on the wall three times. A pair of footsteps came to my room, a feminine voice complaining that I should just keep the key and unlock the ball-chain myself. I started to sign, but she cut me off.
"I know I know," she said. "Keeping the key would defeat the purpose of the chain. But I mean really, if you think that sleep terrors will really make you lash out and hurt someone or something, why don't you just go to therapy?"
I glared at Touko. I hate therapists! They piss me off. They say that it will all be okay but they don't know that! He could come back! He could at anytime just to torment me into breaking again! She put her hands up in the surrendering position, a cheeky smile on her face.
"No need to look so angry, Black."
Black. Like black coffee. I actually liked the nickname she gave me. Why she gave it to me, though, I'll ever know because she won't tell me.
White, can you unlock me now? I need to go to the flower shop.
She scoffed, bending over to unlock my foot from the ball-chain. Once I was free, I rubbed my sore ankle. Though I hate it, I have to use the damn thing. Otherwise, I'm afraid I'd go haywire in my sleep.
The walk to the flower shop wasn't long. It was actually quite short, considering it was only about a mile away from the house. The flower shop was small, quiet, and cute. It was small because not many people really go here except the small few and the community deems factories over flowers. I walked in the door of the small shop, waving at the cashier, Cheren. I've known him for quite some time and despite his nerdy appearance, he loves nature.
I walked around the store, smiling to myself. Flowers make me happy. They are the essence of happiness and purity. I stopped, staring at a new flower I hadn't seen before. They were a red flower, pretty actually. I smiled. I must know the name of them! One of the new flowers came into my view, blocking my vision from the bouquet of the others.
"Do you like them? I grew them myself!~" a voice said from behind me.
I turned around and met eyes with a teenager around my age with long green hair and beautiful eyes who was quite the bit taller than me. He smiled at me, putting the flower closer to my face. I took the flower from him, smiling in thanks.
"I'm N! What's yours?"
I opened my mouth before remembering that I couldn't speak and closed it. I frowned, looking down at my shoes. I snapped and held up a finger, telling him to wait a moment. I dug through my backpack and opened an empty journal, put the flower in that empty journal and got out a pencil. I scribbled on my responses to him.
Name's Touya. But you can call me Black if ya like.
He tilted his head to the side in confusion.
"Why not use your words, Black?"
I looked down in shame, awkwardly twiddling the pencil in my hand. Trust me, if I could use my words, I would. Cheren came up to us, nudging my side with his elbow. I looked at him and nodded, motioning to the flowers behind me. He smiled.
"Just let me know if you need anything else!~ Oh, and N? don't ask about his speech." Cheren said, a sickly sweet smile on his face.
Once Cheren walked away to go get me the bouquet of those flowers, I turned to look at N again, smiling and shrugging awkwardly. He was frowning, not looking too pleased about something. He tsked.
"You two seem close. . ."
Of course. I've known him forever. He's a good friend. I wrote, smiling up at him. He nodded, seemingly unimpressed. I frowned, reaching up to poke his cheek. He moved his gaze towards me and smile.
"Sorry I got caught up in thought. . ."
I smiling, shrugging.
Cheren came up to us again holding the bouquet of flowers I had ordered. I took them from him, shoving my journal back into my backpack along with my pencil. I nodded and smiled at Cheren, thanking him for getting the flowers for me. He smiled back, waving goodbye and walking away. N hugged me, almost making me drop the flowers.
"Come again, Touya!~" N sang, letting me go.
I blushed. No one really uses my name anymore. . .I shook my head, clearing my thoughts. I smiled up at him, nodding.
I walked down the street back to my house, smiling and twirling one of the flowers in my unoccupied hand, thinking of the green-haired beauty. This is going to be interesting...
