Butch rode into the desert. He knew that the crazy ranger couldn't follow him there. Luckily, Red and a couple of her accomplices happened to be passing through to get back to her place.
"Red!" Yelled Butch. He dismounted the horse and began to walk over to her. "I need your help." Just then Red pulled a hidden gun and shot him. Butch fell to the ground with a small growl of pain escaped through his lips.
He was sure that this was the end but, he just escaped death. This thought kinda made him chuckle. He heard Red walking towards him.
"What are you doing here?" She said with a look of surprise on her face. "Wait, how are you still alive? I heard about the accident."
"I'm not to sure myself lovely." He said with an arrogant smile. "You wouldn't happen to have any food or whiskey with you?"
"And why would I give it to trash like you?" She said readying her gun again.
"Red, I need help. I want to change. Help me." He said. Looking down, he was ready for the shot. He was ready for her to have no mercy. But it never came. He only heard the wind on the sand.
"Fine. If you can keep up, I will help you." She said.

A day later,
We traveled through the night. Not a word spoken. We reached her home and she let me in.
"What is your end goal here butch?" She asked as she sat down. "To be tracked down and killed for sure by the ranger?"
"If that's the way it will end then so be it" He said
"Whatever butch let me get that wound fixed up and then you must get some rest" She said. Standing again she let him to a back room that was small but had a cot in it. She had him take his shirt off and lay down. It was painful and gross but with whiskey and time it felt better.
"That should do it Butch now please sleep and rest" Red said as she stood and gave him the rest of the bottle.
"Thank you for your kindness Red" He said as he took a swig. She walked out the room and butch wandered off to sleep.
