One
I woke up that morning feeling a bit weird. Not a bad weird but like a good weird. I ignored it and get out of bed to get ready for school.
After getting ready, I grabbed my backpack and went downstairs. My mum was already in her working attire; making breakfast. She worked as a nurse in our town's hospital.
"Morning, Mum. Where's dad?" he usually would be sitting at the dining table waiting for breakfast while reading a newspaper but this time he was nowhere in sight.
"He went to work early today. He said he had a meeting." She answered as she placed mine and her breakfast on the table. I took my seat as she poured me a glass of orange juice.
I immediately dug in after realizing I was starving. I probably had some eggs on my face since my mum muttered under her breath, "Animal."
I smiled with the food in my mouth and said, "You still love me though."
"Can't deny that." She smiled.
After I finished my breakfast, I kissed my mum goodbye and took off to school. I was an only child so I spend most of my time with my friends. Speaking of friends, as I parked my car, I saw them in front of our school. I stepped out of my car wearing my usual shades.
I was greeted by students as I walked to my friends. This is the usual as I was the school football player along with a few of my friends.
As I approached them, someone stepped in front of me causing me to stop dead in my tracks. I recognized that platinum blonde hair anywhere. Amber stood there smiling at me. Great, mood spoiled today.
"What do you want?" I asked in monotone; annoyed.
"Aww baby, don't be like that." She said as she lightly stroked my chest with her finger. I swapped her hand away and pretended to looked shock at her head.
"There's a spider in your hair." I lied.
A rush of panic took over her. She screamed, worked her hands into her hair; messing it up and ran to her friends for them to help her.
I burst out laughing along with my friends that stood there watching us the whole time. When she noticed I was just playing her, she yelled "Jerk!" and stomped herself into school.
Amber was my girlfriend a year ago but that all ended when I was about to surprise her by coming back early from a game that was held in another town. I decided to surprise her at her house but as I stepped into her room, I caught her with another guy and he doesn't even go to our school. I was heartbroken and still was. I broke up with her right after that. I can't even describe the shock on her face when I caught her. She has been begging me to take her back ever since.
I walked to my friends and greeted them. They have been by my side since middle school and I was grateful for that and I wouldn't trade my group for anything.
Woah, losing my manhood there.
"Great job, Trev." Alex told me as we walked into school. Everyone I know calls me Trev except for my mom who calls me Trevy; embarrassing but I love her nonetheless.
"Always." I smiled as I took of my shades and placing it in my backpack.
"So any plans this weekend?" Marcus asked the group while typing on his phone.
"Dude, the week just started." Elijah stated as he snatched the phone out of Marcus's hand and took off running down the hall. Marcus cussed and chased after him.
