Chapter 1
To some I am a hero, and to some I am a villain. All I know is that I am
a force to be reckoned with.
My name is Angel. Yes I know it's a childish name, but since the law passed that we get to name ourselves at the age of 10, childish names are common. It is the year 3018, I don't know where I am, but I got put here for a reason.
I am on an island, well what looks like an island. I woke up here a few hours ago, the last thing I remember was my house being broken into, screaming and the sound of things breaking fill my mind when I try to remember but I cannot see the faces of who took me here, I bet they drugged me. I just hope my family is ok.
As I look around I can hear the almost silent buzzing of hidden cameras, I can tell that they stripped the island of all the natural foods and water sources. The land is barren, the water is a clear blue, but salty I checked. The sand is a soft yellow, hard enough so that walking is not to much of a hassle, and then there is the jungle. In some places the green mass spreads all the way to the waters edge, but all the plants either don't bear fruit or are poisonous. I think I am in a form of prison, all I can tell is that I am closely monitored. For all I know there may be millions of other people in this place, but I am alone. And all I have with me are the clothes off my back, a food and water parcel, a voice recorder and a multi use parcel. I can survive for a few weeks off of these things, but I am not sure if I can or if I am meant to live after that.
I was put here because I didn't like how people were being treated. I tried to help, stop the madness. But I found out something I shouldn't have, it made me a threat to the government. So now I am here, talking to whoever might be listening.
Once you hear my story, please get help. Try to fix our broken society. And don't worry about me, I'm sure I'll be fine.
Ok, here goes.... To understand why I got into this mess you have to know about my past.
I was born on the 25th of November 3002, I was born into a small and beautiful family, it was just my parents, me and my older brother, Rex. I had a normal childhood until
I was five, my mum and dad both worked at a nuclear power factory and one day when they were working something went wrong, gas was leaked and there was an explosion. My father got out alive, but my mum wasn't so lucky. It was hard for him, he had two small children to look after and he had to deal with his own grieving.
So from the age of five I've had to grow up without a female role model in my life. When it happened I didn't know how she died but as I grew so did my understanding. By the time I was 12 I knew that there were better and cheaper sources of energy than nuclear power, and I never understood why so many innocent people would die for such an unworthy cause and I wanted to change what was happening.
I am now 16 and I have been trying for the last year to make solar and wind power the new leading sources of energy. I have been protesting, writing petitions and trying to start press conferences but nothing has ever worked. I have a group of people behind me, people who know what can happen if nuclear power continues to be produced. But no one cares and I had to take a drastic measures to get my voice heard. I had to do something to make sure that no more innocent people would die. I didn't think that anyone benefited from the current power source, but I was proven wrong.
