Hey this is my new fan fiction. I hope you guys like it. The banner on the side was made by the talented graphic artist, DaMusicFreakxX. And I made the cover and the trailer on the side. You should watch it! It is really good :)
Prologue
Lightning flashed across the sky, illuminating the forest with white light. Thunder instantly followed it, causing the infant to jump in its sleep. The man stroked the child’s soft red baby hair. The rain poured down on the man as he ran with the child wrapped securely to his chest. He could hear the howls and growls in the distance. They were close. Too close. The river was only a few feet away but he didn’t believe he could make it in enough time. But he still had to try.
With one last burst of energy, the man pushed himself to run faster. In a matter of seconds he was on the boat, escaping the monsters that were running up to the shore. The boat was already too far out for them to jump to. He made it alive. He made it with the newborn alive. That was more important.
Another streak of lightning lit the sky. For only the briefest of seconds he could see the shore but then it turned black. In those seconds his eyes met the ones of the beast that had ordered the execution of the child. The roar of the monster was heard over the pounding rain.
As soon as he was sure that they weren’t following him, he went into the cabin where his progeny waited. She sighed when he entered and asked, “What did you do this time?” A small cry erupted from his chest, answering her question. The blonde woman let out a gasp. “Master! What have you done?” He ignored her question as he pulled out the infant. Her vivid blue eyes watered with tears but she didn’t make any more noises. She just looked up at the man with her plump pink lips parted. He marveled at the sight of her. Her snow white skin was flushed pink from the cold.
“Go get her a blanket,” He ordered her. She was too busy looking down at the child to hear him. “Go!” He barked causing her to flinch. She was gone and back within a second with a warm fleece. She draped it around the infant, trying to swaddle her. It was a horrible attempt since she hasn’t been around a child for so long.
The child let out a small coo in satisfaction. It was good enough for her. The man kept his eyes on the child as he sat down on the nearest chair. She looked back up at him with eyes filled of wisdom. They held secrets and answers from beyond this time. She was an old soul. It made him snicker; a red head being an old soul.
“Jeffery has us heading south to the gulf. Where will we go after that?” The woman asked, still standing.
He looked up for a second before returning his eyes to the child. His eyes held her captivating gaze. “She needs to get as far as possible from here. Just have him take us until he passes out from hunger,” He told her as he kept his eyes on the child’s sapphire ones. Out of his peripheral vision he watched his progeny walk out of the cabin. He stroked her freckled cheeks as he murmured to her in French. “Vous êtes chance très petit. Tu devais pour mourir ce soir, mais vous savez probablement déjà que. Vous êtes sage au-delà de votre âge, Roland Sage, vous magnifique créature de petit cœur pur.” You are very lucky little one. You were supposed to die tonight, but you probably already know that. You are wise beyond your age, Sage Roland, you magnificent pure hearted little creature. The man was talking to her as if she understood everything that he was saying. And she did. He was correct when he said she was an old soul, but he didn’t know what she was completely. Only she did.
