The Roadie

#3 "Sam & Jane"

The plane landed and I had no idea what I was supposed to do. I stood still at the airport looking like a lost idiot...

"Are you Amanda?" A kind girl voice asked from behind me.
I turned around and saw two girls. One had long brown hair and wore jeans shorts and a Led Zeppelin shirt. The other one had short blonde hair and wore a cute skirt and a crop top.

"Yeah, that's me" I said probably looking very confused.
"Good I thought we would never find you, this airport is giant!" The one with blonde  hair said.

"Maybe we should introduce ourselves before you scare her away" the brown haired one said slapping the blonde friendly on the back.

"Oh, right" the blonde one said "I'm Sam, we talked over the phone earlier, remember?"
"And I'm Jane" The Brown headed one said. "We are also rodies and we are going to help you with everything need"
"Okey thanks" I said with a smile.

We walked out of the airport to a taxi.
"You see this is how rodies travel, not in limos" Sam teased.
I was right about to answer when the taxi driver cut me off.
"Where are you guys going?"
Jane gave him the address and he started the car.

We turned up in front of a house that kind of looked like hotel just less fancy.
"This is where we live while in a few days then we'll go to another country and stay in a pretty similar place" Sam said.

We walked in the house and to the elevator.
Jane pushed the button to floor 3. We walked out of the elevator. Sam and Jane stopped outside door number 301.

"This is our room and you will be sharing with us because they are 4 peoples in all the other room already" Jane said smiling.

There were two bunk beds in the room.
"This is my bed and that's Janes bed" Sam said pointing on the two lower beds.
"You can pic one of the others, you can putt your bag over there" Jane said pointing on their bags "and we share bathroom with some of the other roadies, I'll show you later where it is"

"Oh I nearly forgot, here's your working clothes. Everyone needs to where similar clothes and a name tag" Sam says handing me the clothes.

It was a black Mötley Crüe shirt, dark blue jeans and black converse.
We all changed and walked outside. I guess we were waiting for something because all the roadie stood outside in small groups.

"What are we doing out here?" I asked.
"Waiting for the bus to pic us up so we can come to the arena" Sam said smiling.
"Isn't the show tomorrow night?" I I asks confused.
"Yeah but it's a lot off things we need to do before that" Jane says.

The bus showed up just a few moments after that.

We started to walk to the bus like everyone else when a man in black stopped me.
"You are Amanda right?" The man asked behind his sunglasses.
"Yeah that's Amanda, who are you?" Sam asks a bitt cocky.
"I'm the driver of that limo" he said pointing against a white limo.
"Oh okey, what do you want her?" Sam kept going on but a bit nicer.
"I'm here to pic up Amanda, strict orders from the boss" he says and we all looks confused. Why would anyone send a limo to pic me up?

"We ain't letting her go with you all by herself" Jane says grabbing my hand.
"Alright the three of you get in the car" the man said.
We all got in the car without arguing.

"I wonder who your secret admirer are" Sam teased"
"Well at least she got one" Jane said pointing her tung out.

We arrived at the stadium and walked out of the limo.

"What are we supposed to do?" I asked.
"No idea" Sam said "let's check the work board"
"Work board?" I ask.
"Yeah it's a white board where all our names is and what we are supposed to do" Jane said.

"It looks like you two will work together today" Sam said looking at me and Jane.
"And you are in the same group as" Jane started but Sam cut her off "sssh, don't say it he might hear you"
"Oops" Jane said sarcastically.

"Okey we are going to fix the band merch" Jane said grabbing my hand and started to walk.

"Hi Jane and...?" A big man in orange shirt started.
"Amanda" I say "I'm new"
"Aha I can see that" he said whit a friendly smile "I'm Jimmy one of the security guards"
"What do you want us to do?" Jane asked.
"You two can start sort this shirts by size " Jimmy said handing us two boxes full of shirts.

It was a kinda fun job being a roadie, you always had something to do but it wasn't in a hurry to be done. Everyone was nice to each other and I got to know some of the others.

Around 4:30 pm we got back to where we lived. Me, Jane and Sam went out for food. It was an interesting day and a fun night.

We went back home and went to bed. It was a dead silence in the room. Jane and Sam are probably sleeping now I thought to myself and picked up my phone. I dialled Thomas phone number arms waited for him to answer.

Thomas: Hello!
Amanda: Hi!
Thomas: how is it being a roadie?
Amanda: it's amazing! I haven't gotten bored one single time and everyone is nice. And the best thing is that I don't have a grumpy boss.
Thomas: that's amazing, I'm so happy for you. And about a grumpy boss, our grumpy boss is really grumpy now. Two reasons actually.
Amanda: what two reasons?
Thomas: number one is that you aren't there and he knows that you are hell of good worker and the second one is that he has hired a step in for you.
Amanda: who?
Thomas: Philip! (Laughing)
Amanda: wait, wait, wait... He hired Philip your boyfriend!?
Thomas: yes (laughing even more) he didn't know we were dating!
Amanda: well... That's good for you and I wish I could have seen his face when he found out you two were dating! (Laughing)
Thomas: but enough about me, have you seen the band more?
Amanda: well it's kinda creepy because they had sent a limo to pic my up instead of the car and stuffs like that.
Thomas: so how is it going with Vince?
Amanda: Vince has girlfriend, she is stunning!
Thomas: I bet she is not as beautiful as you.
Amanda: naww thanks, but I gotta go and get some sleep now.
Thomas: okey, sweet dreams princess.
Amanda: nightyy

~phone call ended~

"Soooo Amanda Jackson has a crush on Vince Neil?" Sam asks. Wait wasn't she sleeping? Is Jane also awake? Did they Hear the whole conversation?

"It's nothing to worry about" Jane says. Nope she is not asleep...
"No really, every roadie once had a crush on him" Sam fills in.
"You'll get over it soon" Jane promises.
"I'm not so sure about that..." I say
"Why? Why wouldn't it?" Sam asks confused.
"Because I knew Vince years ago. I hated him back then because I had a crush on him" I say.
"Why did you have a crush on him if you hated him so badly?" Sam asks still confused.
"Because he didn't return the feelings of course" Jane says slapping Sam friendly on back of her head.
"Precisely" I say "he was cool, popular and good looking. Everyone wanted him and I was just a nobody..."

Before anyone got a chance to say anything more is someone knocking on our door.
"I'll get it" Sam says and walks to the door.

A tall man with big black hair and leather clothing are standing outside our door.

"Tommy?" Sam says confused
"The one and only" he says and gives her a smile. Sam blushes and it's obvious that she likes Tommy.

"Amanda lives here right?" He asks.
"Yes she does, she is over here" Jane says from where we sit on her bed.

Tommy walks in and looks me seriously in the eyes.
"I know all about you and Vince, Mick told me what you had told him on the plane..."
"Does this conversation have a point or do you just wanna make me feel bad about myself?" I cut him off.

"Yes because Nikki doesn't know about that and he dumped his girlfriend" Tommy says looking a bit nervous.
"Okey, why?" I ask confused.
"He dumped her for you" he says with a lame smile.
"Wait he dumped Alice for me!?" Now am I very confused.
" he did"
