Christmas Gifts

Master Makarov looked around the guild at his brats. He was so bored. Then he remembered that Christmas was coming up. He smiled at his plan to spice things up.

"LISTEN UP, BRATS!" he boomed, gaining attention from all the guild members. "CHRISTMAS IS COMING UP, AND AS FAIRY TAIL, WE MUST HAVE A CHRISTMAS PARTY!" he announced. Everyone cheered. "WE WILL ALSO DO SECRET SANTA, SO GET IN A LINE TO CHOOSE A NAME!" the old man added.

A certain ice mage took interest to that. Gray had been going steady with Erza for three years, and had decided he wanted to be with her for the rest of his life. He couldn't find the right time though. Maybe, if he chose Erza's name...

"Next," Mira's sweet voice called. Gray stepped up to the basket and drew a name. It was Erza.

Yes, I got Erza! This is my chance!

"Ice block, what's with that stupid grin on your face?"

Proposing can wait.

(The next day)

Gray went into a ring shop, famous for its fabulous marriage and proposal rings. He looked around, peering into glass cases. Then, he saw what he was looking for. It was on sale, and didn't cost much in the first place. The band was silver, and there was a ruby in the center. He went to the counter with the ring.

"If you want, you can get words engraved into it too," the cashier suggested.

Gray shook his head. "I'm fine," he replied. He paid for it and swiftly walked away.

When he got to his apartment, he took out the ring and leftover wrapping paper from the year before. He wrapped the violet box up and tied it with a red ribbon. He also wrote a note that said,

"Will you marry me?
-Gray"

It was simple but it meant a lot.

(Christmas Eve/Christmas party)

Gray walked in and put his present under the oversized tree. Erza came up to him and hugged him from behind.

"Who did you get?" she whispered playfully into his ear.

"It's called 'Secret Santa' for a reason," Gray replied. Erza giggled in his ear.

"You're right," she agreed.

Mira's voice suddenly started singing Christmas carols on the speakers.

Natsu and Lucy started dancing, with Lucy blushing and protesting, and Natsu laughing loudly. Soon, other couples started dancing.

"Let's dance," Erza said, smiling brightly. "I've been taking lessons."

Gray nodded and they walked to the dance floor. Erza laid one arm on his shoulder, the other on his arm, and started swaying with the music. Gray smiled. I can't wait until she sees her present, he thought.

Makarov's voice interrupted the singing. "PRESENT TIME!" he boomed. Everyone cheered and sat around the Christmas tree. Natsu got Lucy a dragon plushie. Lucy got Levy a new book. Levy got Gajeel a huge block of metal, and so on. Gray got two tickets to an amusement park from Elfman. Then next was Erza's present.

"Erza, this is yours!" Mira smiled. Erza took it from Mira and opened her present. Tears sprang to her eyes when she read the note, and more tears came when she opened the box.

Gray bit his bottom lip in worry.

"Erza-"

"YES! MY ANSWER IS YES!" she shouted, and Gray saw that her tears were tears of joy. Gray smiled and hugged her.

"What the hell is going on?"

"Shut up, Natsu."
