Hands on her belly, she wondered how he'd take it. It had been a year and a half since they were married. Surely, he wouldn't say anything. Despite of how her husband was, she wasn't afraid. Maybe just a bit apprehensive.

Thankfully, he was in a good mood when he came. She wanted to tell him now. "What are your thoughts on starting an actual family?" she asked randomly. Or tried to.

He glanced over at her briefly, then returned his gaze back to his phone. After a few tense minutes, he started to speak, "I want to have a son. Whenever is fine, I'll be happy. He is going to take over my business and expand it."

She almost missed that he hadn't thought of having a daughter. Almost. But like always, she kept her mouth shut. That was the rule here, don't say a damn thing. Looking down at her belly, she looked back at him, catching his gaze. A moment passed.

His eyes dropped down at her belly then, back at hers again. He felt a rush of affection towards her.

"Are we...are you?!" he was unable to form words.

"Yes! Yes!" she whispered.

"Oh my god." He breathed out pressing his forehead to hers.

"I don't want a goddamn daughter!" he roared, storming into the house. "You are going to get rid of it. That is final."

"Calm down! Tell me what's wrong." She said softly, trying to soothe him, not that it ever worked.

"You're reports came, it's a girl. You're getting rid of it. It would be unfair. I won't have time for her." He said, temper not decreasing one bit.

Him and his shitty excuses. She thought. "I am not getting rid of our child, Edmund." She said matter-of-factly. "I've done everything you've asked me to. Every single thing. But not this."

"Then go. Why don't you go back to that fucking dumpster you used to live in, huh?" he yelled.

"I'd rather go back rather than take a life." She shot back. A tear slipped down her cheek. She was shocked at how cruel a person could be. her cheek stung with pain. He had slapped her. Not that it was anything new.

"It is for her sake, if anything." He said.

"You're a fucking liar." She yelled at him. Tears freely rolling, now.

He grabbed her hair and pulled her close to him, "Now darling, what did I tell you about swearing?" he asked.

She spat in his face. The next few days, she couldn't feel her face.

..................................x................................................

She had cried for months, having done it. Taken a life. Killed her child. Two murders later, she planned another one. Decided to kill her marriage and let her daughter live.
