Time Surfers

I stand upon a precipice and gaze forward into the haze
Wait for something to appear from its concealing veil;
In my rearview is void, stark nothingness wrapped in darkness,
Alongside me are all things of a universe surfing the wave titled, now.
I realize, like a dawning, nothing matters but this moment
Not what was or what is to come
Only what is, is of consequence.
All the delights and woes of history have built this wave
We surf hoping to keep our balance for another moment.
Will we ever unite to pierce future’s veil?
Or will we continue in strife fighting over past woes
Hoping to gain possession of a mist that is not ours.
