- a she-cat is a female cat.

- a tom is a male domestic cat that isn't neutered.

- the leaders of Clans receive nine lives.

- tabbies are cats with gray or tawny coats mottled with black.

- the medicine cat is the only cat in the Clan that can receive prophecies from StarClan.

- the kits sleep with the queens in the nursery. Apprentices, warriors, and elders have their own dens. The deputy sleeps with the warriors and the leader has his/her own den.

*Tabbies can have different coat patterns. These are the patterns and their descriptions.

- Classic Tabby: bold, swirling patterns along its sides; much like a marble cake. Called a "blotched tabby" sometimes. The patterns of circular smudges closely resemble bulls-eyes.

-Mackerel Tabby: long, narrow stripes that run in parallels down the tabby's body. They branch out from one stripe that runs along the top of the cat's back down the spine.

- Spotted Tabby: spots all over the cat's sides. These spots can be large, small, round, oval, or rosettes.

- Ticked Tabby: may not seem to be a tabby at first, because it does not seem to have any stripes or spots or smudges in its coat pattern. However, the individual hairs are striped with alternating light and dark bands. Ticked tabbies have visible stripes on their legs, face, and tail.

- Tortoiseshell Tabby: a tabby with all the colors mottled together in patches and splotches with no distinctive stripes or patterns.
