Entry 3

I hate this hospital. It's stuffy. All day while my friends are gone all I have to do is sit and read old journals and medical history reports. Occasionally they will bring small stuff in from my home. (Which I still haven't seen my accident.) All I have is a few books that I haven't had yet a chance read, some of my favorite movies which I have watched (they are really good) and some C.D.'s. I love them!

However the things that haven't changed are the plain white walls, the sheets, the boring portraits on the walls, and the constant visits from the only three people I know. They are almost always here smiling and having a fun time but whenever I would ask a question about my past journal entries or school or what it's like for them they instantly stop. They stop smiling and laughing; they just put their heads down or rub their chins and say its okay. Then they would joke about someone in the question stir up a memory or Shelby and I would attempt conversation.

The more me and her sign the more I learn about her. She loves rock music and paranormal stuff but she is also frightened easily if you walk up behind her. Her scream sounds so funny. It sounds like a duck quack. She also loves to watch movies but she can't hear what they are saying so she likes the old silent films with Charlie Chapman. I think its cool watching that with her especially since she went through so much trouble trying to find them.

When I was alone with her, I asked her about Johnathan she gets so excited and her face warms up. Johnny is what we would always call him. He's my brother, I knew that from the first day, but then she and I kept talking about how they both first met. I think its weird that it wasn't for a while until after me and her started playing together and really become close.

They met when she first stayed the night at my house when we were six. My brother was playing a video game. Apparently, he didn't have many friends back then. Anyways when me and her and him and my mom were all eating dinner together he showed her a dead turtle. They have been in love ever since. I thought it was weird. I mean it's not exactly a typical fairytale ending. Especially since they didn't date until middle school, but its still cute and weird and they are happy so why criticize?

"Hey, how ya holding up today?" Johnny asked.

"I'm alright. Bored out of my mind," I had said and signed. "I've been here for only a week or so and I'm not even done with the journals yet and I'm mostly finished with the medical reports. I hate reading about myself. Makes me feel conceded."

There were chuckles and then a short silence. Johnny decided to sit beside me and put his backpack down beside his chair. He smiles and looks at me.

"I brought a few things for ya from home," he says and reaches for his backpack. He then pulls out a huge photo album, my laptop, some disks and a set of headphones (the kind that covers your whole ear). " Some of the videos are home videos, others are just ones I did during my camera phase and the rest DVD sets to your favorite T.V. shows like Charmed and How I Met Your Mother.

He also brought me some more Subway and some McDonald's. I swear by now he has my orders memorized. A six-inch Italian bread sub with pepperoni, ham, tomatoes, pickles (lots of them) and no cheese and a bag of Doritos (original) and from McDonald's an Oreo Frappe and mozzarella sticks. YUM!!!!!!! Honestly, he's a good guy; I'm lucky enough to be his sister. His favorite color is red and he likes to play card games. He's very popular to what I'm told. Strangely though he only has a couple of friends, of all the people who know him he only has a few.

After a few hours E.J. came by and rented something from the Redbox. He rented a movie about  a young boy getting kidnapped and the father gets the help from a mentally disabled women to find him and the journey they went through. When he put in the movie I found out it was animated. He said the title was Finding Nemo. I loved that movie.

Towards the end of it after Johnny left to go home for tonight E.J. asked me about last night.

"Sara, What happened? Last night you completely freaked out," he said. He looked very concerned for me. I turned to him.

"Can I trust you not to tell anyone? Not the doctors, Johnny or Shelby."

He nodded his head. I told him to shut the door and take a seat. The darkness of my mind was told.
