I died.
I didn't see a light or someone I lost. It was fast. One moment you can feel everything and the next second is empty. It's dark and completely silent. You feel like you're lost, like you suddenly forgot what road you're on while driving. It all just goes away instantly. The feeling of pain, adrenaline, warmth, coldness, itchy, soft, stinging, burning. Everything. Gone. In one instance. Death is like snapping your fingers, a car accident or even losing yourself to another human being. You never know what is really happening until it happens. You won't know until you wake up and you're suddenly another person. You wake up in a different room with different sheets and paint. You wake up to a new voice and new hands. You wake up to a new you.
The worst part is, I actually remember the old me.
I remember being Hannah.
I remember my old life. I remember my first birthday. I remember my parents. I remember my first day of school. The day I broke my wrist. My first day of high school; I was terrified. I remember my first kiss with Noah. God, I remember my first time with Noah. We had no idea what to do. Noah looked me in the eyes every time he thought he hurt me. I glanced at him with flushed red cheeks of embarrassment. Two virgins in a teen girl's room at two A.M. I remember prom night, all the parties I went to. All the memories of my best girl friends, Madelaine and Peyton.
I remember dying but I can't remember how I died. The pain still embedded into my psyche. The silence that came, white noise, calmed me to a deep sleep. I don't know if I am someone new or if my soul is stranded. Whatever it is, I have to know how I died, and I will do anything to find out.
