Halfway through the drive I gave up on trying to keep my eyes open. Once we were in Asher's driveway he parked the car and ran to my side.
"Scarlett, please tell me you can wake up or so help me God I will go back to that party and kill CJ and Jane." I blinked my eyes open as wide as possible and he breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank god, I didn't want to go to jail but I would have very quickly if you didn't wake up." I unbuckled myself at a snail's pace and Asher lifted me from the car.
"I can try and walk, Asher." He ignored me and rushed me into the house.
"Mom!" Asher shouted, "Dad!" We heard quick footsteps rushing down the stairs.
"What? What's happened?!" Danielle asked worriedly as she came to my side and began feeling my forehead checking for a fever.
"She got roofied at that party we were at! What do I need to do?! She can barely move!" Asher was panicking but still had a strong grip on my weak body.
"We need to get her to the hospital," Danielle responded in a calm tone. I could tell she was trying to calm Asher down because he was the furthest thing from calm.
Danielle offered to drive me to the hospital because it would take longer than she was comfortable with to wait for an ambulance. Asher refused to leave my side so he carried me into the backseat of his mom's car and sat with me laying in his lap.
"Stay awake, baby, please stay awake," he continued to whisper to me.
"Asher, she's going to be okay. Just relax; we're getting her help," Danielle was still trying to calm her son.
"He was going to rape her," he said through gritted teeth. I heard her gasp in response.
"Wasn't she with you?"
"She went to the bathroom and didn't come back for a long time. I went looking for her and came to a bedroom with the door shut. I figured it was worth a shot so I knocked. That bitch we go to school with, Jane, answered and was being weird and then I heard the most heart-wrenching sound possible come from her, it came from Scarlett and I knew it right away. I shoved the door open and saw CJ hovering over her. She was only in her bra and underwear, her makeup had ran down her cheeks with all the crying she had been doing, and he had one hand on her breast and the other clamped over her mouth keeping her quiet.
"Mom, I have never felt that type of rage before. I immediately knew she wasn't cheating on me, she was being molested, and the only way that would happen without her beating the shit out of whoever tried would be if she was drugged."
His mom was silent, probably trying to process what he had just said. I was laying in Asher's lap silent with tears streaming down my face yet again but my eyes were still closed. Asher must have looked down at me because he sighed painfully and used his thumb to wipe my tears away.
"I felt...weird standing in the, in the kitchen," I spoke as best I could, "I felt light-headed."
"Baby, you should have said something," Asher replied, "I would have gone with you to the bathroom, or taken you outside to get some fresh air."
"I know I should have," I whispered as more tears stained my cheeks. I couldn't even imagine how horrendous my makeup looked, but I didn't need to worry about looking nice to go to the hospital. I was a complete mess - I was having difficulty speaking, moving, even doing something as simple as keeping my eyes open.
We made it to the hospital in good time, and once again, Asher was carrying me. No matter how many times I told him I could try and walk he refused to put me down on my own feet.
