Saving Angel

I was walking besides my brothers, when I finally couldn't take it anymore. It felt like as if Madie was gonna jump me at any moment or something. I tugged on Austin's sleeve and he turned to me.

"What's up, Angel?"

"Can I go for a walk?"

"We are going for a walk, to the diner" he replied. I sighed.

"I mean, I wanna go to the lot, you know, just a short walk, I'll meet y'all at the diner" I said. Suddenly, Tony turned towards us.

"That's too dangerous, Angel" he spoke up.

"Please? I'll just be at the lot, I won't even take long, I promise" I pleaded. They looked at each other, before sighing. I knew I just won.

"Okay, fine, but be careful" Austin said. I nodded and walked in the opposite direction. Finally, some time alone. I wonder if dad's alright. Now that I think about it, I didn't get to see him before I left with my brothers. Wish I had. I wanted to see him before going into hiding. If the cops find me, I'll be taken to my aunt Sally, and I don't want to go with her. She hates kids, she'll probably abuse me or something. My mom and aunt Sally didn't really... dig each other, though they were sisters. My mother was nice, kind, sweet, caring, the perfect mother. And my aunt is the complete opposite.

I've met my aunt only once, and that was at her wedding. When she saw me and my brothers, she crinkled her nose in disgust. But, since we were family, she couldn't say anything to us. She wasn't allowed to. Mom said to never visit her, ever.

Out of nowhere, I was pulled by the arm. I turned around, finding myself surrounded by guys. Soc.

"Um, can I help y'all?" One guy smirked at me.

"Why don't we help you, I think it's time for a bath, greaser" he said. I got scared at his words. We were at the park and my brothers were at the diner, there's no way they can hear me scream. Suddenly, they attacked me. I started yelling and screaming for help as they dragged me over to the fountain. Tears started their way down my cheeks.

"Stop! Let go of me!" They just laughed. That's when the shoved me into the water. Oh my gawd, they're going to drown me! I kicked and tried getting away, but it wouldn't work. Out of the blue, they released me, and I fell completely into the water. I popped my head out and gasped. That's when I saw Mandie beating the tar out of them, the guys who were drowning me. I got out of the fountain, and screamed for my brothers. "Tony! Austin! Someone, please help!"

Suddenly, I was grabbed by the collar and pushed to the ground. One of the guys towered over me, then he grabbed my shirt and brought his arm back, ready to swing at me. All I gasped and waited for impact, but Mandie then jumped on him, making him fall to the ground. She punched him square in the jaw and kicked him repeatedly in the stomach.

"Austin! Tony!" My brothers appeared around the corner, running towards Mandie and me. Their gang following behind. Austin was the first to reach me.

"Angel, are you alright?" I nodded. He examined me carefully, as the rest of the guys went to help Mandie. "You're all wet, what happened?"

"They tried drowning me" I said, still crying. He pulled me into a tight hug and caressed my hair.

"It's okay, they're not going to hurt you anymore" he replied. I buried my face in his chest.

"Is she alright?" I pulled away and looked up, finding Darry standing in front of us.

"Yea, she's fine. How's Mandie?" That's when she walked up to us.

"I'm alright" she said. I couldn't stop myself from what I was about to do. I stood up and hugged her. Even though she would probably push me away or something, I still hugged her.

"Thank you" I said. After a while, she hugged me back, and we stayed like that for a while, until we bother pulled away. "I wanna repay you, for saving me" I said.

"How the hell do you plan to do that?" Her attitude towards me didn't change at all.

"Do you like shopping?" She raised her eyebrows at me for a moment.

"Uh, yea, why?"

"I'll take you shopping, a girls day out, what do you say?" She was surprised by this, I could tell by the look on her face.

"Um, okay" she replied, a small smile appearing on her pretty face.
