"What are we going to call them?" A new mother asks her husband, her eyes full of happiness, as she looked down at her twins, a boy and a girl

"How about Samuel for the boy and you can name the girl" her husband replied

"What about Alexa?" She suggested

"Perfect, Samuel and Alexa" he agreed, they both smiled down at their son and daughter oblivious to the disaster going on around the world, they didn't know it yet but the world as they knew it was coming to an end.

"When do you think you'll be able to come home?" Her husband asked her

"I'm not sure" she answered just before the door was kicked in, men with guns charged in seconds later

She screamed, holding her babies closer, to protect them

"Put your hands up!" One orders, her husband does but she can't since she's holding the babies

"I said put your hands up!" He shouted at her, all guns were pointed and she awkwardly put them up while still holding her son and daughter.

That's when the man sees the babies, his face softens for half a second, and he changes his mind.

"Alright you can put them down" he tells her still harshly, but softer, like he was remembering something from the past

He was. Once he had a wife and two daughters, but then police thought he was a murderer, so they went to his house while he was out and his wife got scared so instead of answering the door straight away, she put his daughters, Fawn and Alora in their room before grabbing a knife, to protect herself from someone bad, the police grew impatient and took that as a sign that he wasn't going come easily and kicked the door down. Startled, the wife raised the knife, thinking they were robbers but when she saw their uniforms she lowered it, at that moment Fawn and Alora started crying hysterically so she rushed to them, to calm them down. The police didn't realise this and chased after her thinking that she was going to warn her husband or she had something. They followed her into the room and fired without looking when they stopped they saw what they had done but it was too late. They had killed his wife and daughters. He arrived home he was devastated but still was arrested, they got no more than two steps out of the door when the head police officer got a call saying he was innocent. Half of that team quit in regret or were fired, most of them did everything they could to make it up to him. But it was too late. He had joined a group who had a plan to change the world to what they want it. He was blinded. He couldn't see what he was doing.

She nodded in thanks, as her son started crying she gently rocked him, her daughter stayed silent, showing no emotion.

"What are you doing?" Her husband asked them angry, angry that his wife and children could be in danger, angry that he didn't know what was going on.

"Get out of here" he then snapped at them, making them even more angry than they were. His wife looked up, she knew that he was making it worse.

"Steve, don't" she warned him and he calmed down a bit

"We are the people who are going to change this world" an older man said walking in

"For the worst?" Steve questioned

"No for the better, in this world to many people get away with unforgivable crimes and no one cares but so many hardly do anything and people are angry, they want them to be punished and we want to end that" the man replied

"There must be another way" the woman cried finally quietening her son down

"No there isn't, move" the elderly man snapped his followers motioned with their guns for both of them to walk out of the room

"She can't go anywhere, she's just given birth" he husband protests dad he moved forward

"Too bad, you both need to come with us" another says going over to her and snatching her babies from her

And that's when it went to chaos, gunshots rang out, with no clear target, screams and cries followed. The boy started crying again, already hungry.  muffled gunshots could be heard against louder ones, glass was broken.

Steve surveyed the room afterwards

His wife lay dead in the bed, in her arms lay their babies, unaware of the disaster around them. Bodies lay in the floor, some dead, some unconscious and some injured.

He let out a sigh, knowing that his children will not be growing up in the world he would have wanted them to, they grow up around lies, hatred, fear and death and they won't know any different.

As he looked down at his two children he couldn't help the feeling of hate towards him that became stronger every minute that went past, if they were never born then his wife, the love of his life, would still be alive.

The first man, the leader of the soldiers, looked up from where he lay on the floor, ashamed that he had killed the woman who had just become a mum but there was nothing he could do to change that now because the mission had been completed. His boss, Travis, was dead leaving him in charge and he was glad of it. Eli smile proudly at what they had achieved, they've come so far and they will go further now that he's in charge. He regrets killing the mother, an innocent just like his wife. But they did what had to be done. They need her husband to succeed.

"I will help you" Steve said breaking his thoughts

"With what you need to be done, to fx this world" he added to make it clearer

"Good, you'll be useful" Eli replied standing up and they shook hands
