Okay okay, I should get back to the story soon, and believe me, from the next chapter onwards I will! I just thought I would tell you guys this little tid-bit, because I suspect that some of you might already know some of the elements I'm referring to in the previous chapter!
"The Red Room" really does exist. It's a Japanese Flash animation. The animation received notoriety after the 'Sasebo Slashing' of Japan some years back. The perpetrator, a young 11 year old girl, killed an older 12 year old classmate by slitting her throat with a knife during lunch break. The girl was revealed to have loved this particular Flash animation. The case stirred up controversy regarding the legal age limit to sentence a child, considering the magnitude of the girl's crime. She remains unnamed, and is only known as 'Girl A' in police records.
Some elements of the flash game I used in the prologue, and I will continue to make references to it in later chapters.
Oh yeah, if you haven't guessed already, the story is loosely based around the flash game, as well as, of course, being part of the title itself. But a lot of the events occurring here would be out of my own imagination, using the already existing "The Red Room" as the foundation.
