Chapter 1
"Here we are," the announcer said "last inning before the championship round. Who will take home the gold?" He announced with enthusiasm and the stands just roared.
Lynn was up to bat. She got into her stands, bat held up, eyes on the pitcher. The ball flew out of the pitchers hand, clapped against the bat and soared through the blue sky. Lynn ran to first, ball still in the air; to second, the ball was slowly falling; she circles third and makes it home. As she hits home plate the ball lands on the outside of the fence and the crowd goes wild. She just won the game for the team!
Everyone was cheering and chanting when suddenly sirens broke the enjoyment. Police officers all around.
The head officer heads out to the field, "Who is Lynn Carson?"
Lynn approaches the officer and referring to herself says "Me sir."
"You're coming with us." the officer said without even giving Lynn a chance to respond. "You are under arrest for the murder of Lizzy Martin."
"What!? It wasn't me! She was killed? How? When?" I couldn't believe that it was even possible! Lizzy? She was the nicest, sweetest girl I knew. Who wanted to kill her? Why?
Riding in the back of the police car past the crowd, my family and friends was something that I would never forget. The rubbing burn the heavy handcuffs left on my wrists were some what like my bones were being thinned down. Several people stood aside the road chanting that I was a worthless pile of junk, they actually believed that I had killed her!
Chapter 2
I got to the police station and they explained to me what happened. They had determined she was killed with a 22 calabur pistol. It was early in the morning as well. They told me the details of everything. I burst out in tears when they were in my face blaming me for a murder I didn't commit.
At that time my mom and dad rushed in and got me out of there. We got outside and they began yelling and screaming, "What were you thinking!? Murdering your classmate was not on the list!"
"What!? What list!" I was demanding, everything after the game made no sense.
"The list of people you hate! Why would you do that to her? She was so nice! She was the reason why you even got into that high priced school of yours!" my own parents were blaming me, for something I would NEVER do!
After hearing that I just ran, I ran all the way home and got ready. I needed to figure things out.
I packed and ran out of the house running into reporters and police all asking more questions.
"Everyone back up now! NOW!" it was a strange but familiar voice. I turned and saw it was Isacc. I grabbed him by the arm and we ran to the garage and got into the car and sped out of the drive way and out of town.
"Where the hell are we going!?" he asked, freaking out.
"We need to find answers. The first place to start is where Lizzy was killed, their vacation home."
"Won't we get caught? And, umm I don't know, arrested!?" Isacc was freaking out but began to calm down. "So why? Your parents bailed you out right? So why all this?"
"They think," I paused not wanting to say that my parents thought it was true, "that I did kill her. I need to figure it out before the championship too."
"Ohhh! So you think you'll be a hero and automatically get to play?" he was starting to make no sense at all.
"Ugh! Excuse me!? I'm the one who was accused of murder! Your the one that told them to stop, and I hope you believe me!"
