Phil's been asleep for a while. We've been getting about three hours of rest since the "beginning of the end". It started two weeks ago and has been nothing less of chaotic. We're the last ones in London, and it's all because of pure luck. Everyone decided to leave to Manchester, but they were met with guns and bombing that killed them all. War has broken out and disease is spreading. It's all because of this earthquake that destroyed the balance of things.
I felt Phil stir as he started to wake up. "Phil, are you up," without a word he nodded and sat up with a sigh. "This isn't going to work Dan, living off of cans we find and looking for places to stay is so- is so infuriating!" He yelled tears brimming his eyes. "Listen I know it's terrible but we have to do our best to survive, I can't lose you," I said walking toward the small bunk. "I love you, and that is even more terrifying then this situation," he looked up at me and stood. "I love you too but I am only a person Dan this is so hard to process." I hugged him and felt him sob at the touch. "I just don't wanna do this anymore,".
His breathing was erratic and fast. "Calm down love," I whispered holding him tighter. "Follow my breathing okay?" He nodded.
"In," he hiccuped a bit. "Out," his body shook with the breath. "in," I felt a tear fall onto my neck and travel down my back. "Out," his breathing became normal and his heart beat seemed to sync with mine. "We'll be ok-,"
"Attention London," a loud voice came from the outside. "This is your new God, I am the one who takes, listen to me closely," me and Phil peeked through the blinds seeing a large helicopter hover above our area. "You have exactly 14 hours till we nuke this entire place, you have time to say goodbye to the ones you love or kill the people you hate yourselves," we looked at each other in horror. "Choose wisely,"
Phil trembled back. He screamed, he screamed so loud it hurt my ears. "Phil we have each other maybe we ca-"
"We can't win Dan!" He screamed. "It's over, we've lost, We are both going to die," he started to cry. "I don't want it to be this way, I wanted us to get married, adopt a child, be happy for god sakes," I moved his hands away from his face and interlocked them with mine. "You make me happy Phil, I want my last moments to be with you, please," I picked his chin up. "Don't give up just yet," he sighed. "Let's go and look around for the last time then," I smiled at the idea and nodded.
We walked outside and were met with a potent smell of pollution and fire. "It's all gone, everything," I said looking out at the burning rubble. I felt Phils cold hands wrap around mine. "Let's go to the park," he said walking over rocks and pools of oil.
The park looked sad, like the last bit of life and joy was ripped away from it. Luckily the swing sets were intact. We sat on them and swung slowly. "I remember when you fell off these swings and into a puddle," he giggled slightly. "I remember you trying to swing backwards and falling on top of a little boy." We both laughed, I can almost see Phil apologizing over and over again even though the kid was perfectly fine.
"I remember telling you I love you," he pointed at the local ice cream parlor. "Right over on the third table. It was on accident too," he smiled. I blushed remembering his sudden stop after he told me and how he looked worried on what I'd say. "It's a good thing you loved me too," he sighed "or it would've been really awkward,"
"I'll love you even if the sky is gone," I got up from the swing and walked toward him. "I'll love you even if the sun turns black," I pushed him just so he could get a bit more momentum. "I'll love you even if the world ends and there's nothing left because Phillip Michael Lester, I am so utterly and truly enthralled with you that nothing would ever change that," I stopped the swing and pulled him closer to me so I could kiss his neck. "Daniel James Howell, you better kiss me right now cause I love you so much it hurts," I laughed at his remark and twisted the set so he would face me. "My pleasure,"
