"So, you guys – whatever you would say your relationship is – are finished?" Chloe asked.

"Yeah, I guess," I replied, sitting down beside her on my bed.

"I actually want to go to her house and gouge her eyes out," Rachel scoffed.

"If you go, I'm coming too," Chloe agreed.

When they arrived half an hour ago, I told them everything. About Sabrina, Niall, every piece of information – whether relevant or not – just seemed to tumble out of my mouth. Chloe was the first one to forgive me, with a tearful hug and an apology whispered in my ear. Rachel took a little longer, but her apology was the same as Chloe's.

"God, really she's set on ruining your life," Rachel said, who was sprawled across my bed.

"That's her plan," Cassie spoke for the first time, I almost forgot she was there too. She had been sitting at my desk for about fifteen minutes and hadn't opened her mouth. She'd never known where I lived, so she was very shocked when I asked her to come to the bookshop. I guess she would have found out eventually.

Chloe, Rachel and I all whirled around to look at her.

"What?" I asked.

"She wants to cut off all of your relationships, so you feel isolated," Cassie replied.

"How did you come up with that? It's genius," Chloe asked.

"I didn't come up with it, I knew it."

"Wait, how did you..." Rachel trailed off, then her face contorted into anger. "You've known this whole time?"

Cassie nodded, her face suddenly going pale. "It started back before you came to Notting Hill. Sabrina was at an expensive private school in the country and there; she wasn't as popular as she is here. She had acne, braces, and scraggly hair. The girls at this school, they  bullied her, they teased her. It got to the point where it was so bad that she refused to get out of bed one morning. So her mum pulled her out, gave her a makeover and sent her to Notting Hill. Melissa  was the one that sent that initial bribe; it was well before Sabrina cracked, but her mother knew she would eventually break down. So she decided to ensure that Sabrina would have friends at her new school."

"How do you know all of this?" Chloe asked.

"Because..." Cassie paused. "Because Sabrina's my cousin."

"What?" Rachel exclaimed.

"Well, second cousin, actually," Cassie added quietly.

"It still means you're related!"

"I didn't want to tell you guys because I don't want to be seen as being related to her. She's such a bitch to everyone and I don't want everyone to assume that I'm the same as her just because we share the same blood," Cassie said.

"It's okay, Cass," Chloe said, standing up to wrap an arm around Cassie's shoulders.

"It's no-" Rachel began to say, but I cut her off.

"Yes, it is Rach. I wouldn't be proud to be related to Sabrina either," I said, joining Chloe and Cassie.

Rachel sighed. "You're right. I'm sorry, Cass."

"Don't worry, Rach," Cassie said, pulling her into a hug. "Sabrina wants Grace to feel isolated, like she has no one, that's why we have to stick together even more."

"Definitely," Chloe agreed and then we all started tearing up.

We were all hugging each other and crying when mum walked into the room. "Girls- I don't think I want to know what's going on, so I'm going to go," she said, walking out of my room mumbling about emotional teenage girls.

After we got our acts together about ten minutes later, the girls left.

I flopped on to my bed and stared at the ceiling as a sudden wave of nostalgia hit me. I was so, so glad that my friends stood by me when I needed them. Then an idea popped into my head. I shot up and scrambled to my desk, grabbing a pen and a sheet of paper and I began writing.
