14.Finding out

"Hey Macy, Damon, I'm glad you came!" Elena said greeting us "Come in, we're about to eat" she said

We then walked inside and saw Stefan, Caroline, Bonnie, Jeremy, and Matt Donovan

I've talked to Matt a few times at the Grill, he works there and he's really nice. But I haven't really hung out with him, so I'm glad he's here

"Hey guys, come sit! We're just talking about the party tonight" Caroline said smiling

We all talked for about ten minutes then I asked Damon, Elena, and Stefan to come into the kitchen so I could talk to them

"Guys, I found out something about Alaric Saltzman" I said once they all joined me

"Okay" Stefan said

I told them about everything me and Alaric talked about

"So I guess he's our friend" Elena said

"I guess" I said shrugging

After we all finished eating, we went over to the boarding house to set up for the party

"Okay, Macy and Jeremy, your on balloon duty" Caroline said looking at her clip board

"Alright, lets do this" Jeremy said to me and we walked over to the box that was filled with balloons

"So we have to fill them with helium and tie them to strings then hang them everywhere" I said getting the balloons out and the helium filler

"Yeah, lets start filling them"

We filled about twenty balloons and tied them on strings

"I'll go hang some outside" I said taking some of the balloons

I walked outside and started tying the balloons to the house

After the last balloon I examined my work. It actually looked really good, I was proud of myself

I was about to go inside when I heard someone call my name

I turned around and saw Aaron walking up to the house

"Hey Aaron, what's up?" I said walking to him

"I found out some stuff about your dream, with the room and Damon and Katherine" he said

"Okay, tell me"

We walked over to one of the benches that were set outside and sat down

"Well I figured out that there's a tomb underneath the church where Katherine and 27 other vampires were killed."

"So, what does that mean?" I asked

"That's the room you were in. And behind the door, is Katherine and the 27 vampires. They've been down there for a century and a half waiting for someone to open it and free them" he said

I paused .

"Wait.. So Katherine faked her death?"

"Yes. And the part about Damon, I could only figure out that he's been trying to figure out a way to open it" he said looking at me

I was in shock. Why would Damon want to free Katherine after everything she did to him. And how long has he been planning this?

"I..don't know what to say" I said looking at the ground

"Yeah, me either."

We were silent for a second

"Wait, what about the part of my dream where Damon was telling me to open it and you were saying not to and that it'll kill me" I said

"Well, I think that the tomb is bounded by a spell or something and Damon is going to ask you to break it so he can get Katherine back. But the part about me, well I think the spell is going to be very powerful and it might kill you" he said

It took me a minute to calm myself and process everything.

I then heard someone walking towards us

"Macy! There you are!"

I looked up to see Caroline. She was looking at me but then her gaze fell on Aaron

"Who is this?" She asked smiling

"Caroline, this is Aaron. Aaron,this is Caroline" I said

"Nice to meet you Caroline" Aaron said grinning

"You too." She gave a big smile "Are you able to help? Because these people do not know how to hang streamers" she said

"Yes, I'll help Macy" he said looking at me

"Great!" She said then walked inside

Me and Aaron got up and followed her.

"Okay, you too can go hang streamers on the balcony" Caroline said handing us streamers

We then walked out the glass doors and started hanging the steamers

"Do you think it's true? That Damon wants to free Katherine?" I asked Aaron

It took him a minute to think

"I don't know, I personally think he does but he might not want to open the tomb just for Katherine" he said

I looked back inside and saw Damon helping Elena with the streamers. They were laughing and throwing things at each other.

I wasn't jealous, but I couldn't help but become sad. Seeing them laughing and playing made me think that maybe he does want to free Katherine and that he still loved her

I saw Damon starting to look over to my direction and I locked eyes with him.

He smiled at me and I pulled a half smile so he wouldn't think I was sad

"Hey" Aaron said snapping me out of my gaze with Damon and causing me to look up at him

"Whatever it is.. We'll get threw it" he said smiling down at me

I smiled back at him and said, "I know"

Aaron could tell that I was upset so he pulled me into a hug. He wrapped his arms around me and I rested my head on his chest.

I still felt Damon's gaze on me, but I didn't look at him. If I did, then I knew I would start crying, I couldn't stand to think about him still loving Katherine

After we all finished decorating, everyone went back to their houses to get ready for the party that started in an hour

I was in my room and I was wearing a strapless dress that almost came down to my knees.The top was black and tight while the bottom was white and flowy. I wore my black lace up pump heels. For my hair I did loose curls and for my makeup I did my usual black eyeliner with mascara

I walked downstairs and looked out the window. It was sunny outside and there were only a few clouds out. It was a perfect day for a party

"Well doesn't someone look beautiful"

I turned around to see Damon in a black V neck and nice black pants.

I smiled at him and started walking towards the kitchen, but he stepped in front of me

"What's going on Macy?" He asked looking at me

"What do you mean" I asked not looking him in the eye

"You haven't been yourself today"

I shrugged and went to step beside him but he wouldn't let me. He then lifted my chin up so I looked into his eyes

"Macy, you can tell me anything" he said with concern

I was going to deny it but then I thought to myself, I want the truth don't I, so what better way to find out then to go ahead and ask him

"Damon... Are you trying to open the tomb" I asked him looking into his eyes

I could tell he was shocked, but I knew he could tell what I was talking about

He paused a little before he answered

"..yes" he said

"Why? Why would you want to release 27 vampires into Mystic Falls?"

"So I can get Katherine"

I just stood there. I can't believe he still wants her. After everything, I've been the one always there for him. Not her!

"Macy-"

"No Damon I got it. She's always gonna be the one that you love. She's always the one you care about most. I'm never going to be enough" I said with anger in my voice, but I had tears in my eyes.

"Please Macy-"

"God I can't believe you! I thought you were over her! But no. After a century and a half, she's still the one. Even tho she just used you and Stefan as her toys.. I would never do that to you! After a century and a half I'VE always been the one there for you not her!" I yelled

I turned on my heel and started walking towards the door but then I stopped. I turned around to look at him

"And to think I actually thought you loved me" I said with a tear going down my cheek

I then walked out the door.
