The temperature had risen dramatically, Vic figured Mike had been messing around with the heater again. His eyes fluttered open, confusion was the first thing on his mind, had he fallen asleep? His vision was blurry. The ground crunched and cracked beneath him as he shifted uncomfortably. Carefully, he placed his hands on both sides of himself, feeling around as he slowly sat up. His back ached.

"H...hello?" the throaty sound that escaped from his lips was enough to have panic course through his body. He pushed himself off the ground, quickly stumbling to his feet. "uh.. Anyone..? H.....Hello..?" he managed to croak out the words.

The warmth was becoming unbearable. Lifting a nervous hand, Vic wiped away at the beads of sweat on his forehead. Dropping his head, he closed his eyes, rubbing his temples in a feeble attempt to make the headache go away. His head felt heavy. Out of habit, he bit down on his lip as it began to quiver, the pain in his mind becoming more prominent as he struggled to breathe. "Someone?" the tightening feeling in his throat made it impossible to say much, if anything at all. Finally, re-opening his eyes, he found that much to his horror, he was no longer in his house. The flames of what seemed like hell flickered high above him, with eyes wide open, he continued to watch in disbelief. He wasn't sure if he had finally gone crazy. Taking a few steps back, the crunching sounds beneath his feet caught his attention. His eyes struggled to take in what he was seeing. Millions and millions of what looked like human bones were strewn across the floor. Skulls plastered the walls. Blood curdling screams made their way into his ears as his hearing sharpened.

Instantly, he covered them, shutting his eyes to the nightmare he found himself in. Vic fell back to the floor, as his legs could no longer hold him up. Cowering, his heart beat sped up erratically. His eyes stung as he desperately wanted to cry.

"This isn't happening.... this isn't happening.. Wake up... fucking wake up..." He hugged his knees to his chest.

The last thing Vic remembered was... Well, that's just it, he doesn't remember anything really. Things were so dark, empty, like he was lost in blackness, and once he finally came too, he was here.

"Is that him?" An unfamiliar and out of place sound caught Vic's attention.

"Yes.... and by the looks of it, you have your work cut out for you." a second voice, deeper.

A high pitched laugh echoed through out the area, the infectious sound filled Vic.

"Maybe so, but that's why they assigned him to me."

Puzzled, the skinny hispanic boy looked towards the voices. His eyes immediately fell on the younger boy, whose bright blue eyes had already been watching him. They looked kind. "Hi there!" He shot Vic a toothy grin while awkwardly waving at him. His perfectly styled hair framed his delicate face, the raven locks complimenting his eyes. He was pale, flawless. Translucent almost. It was as if he were a life sized porcelain doll. Vic continued to watch him, his eyes taking in as much as they could of the beautiful creature that stood before him.

"He doesn't say much.."

"Well... He did almost -"

"SHH!" The small white boy lifted a hand immediately to the timid red head that stood beside him. "It's too soon, Matty." His eyes fell back onto Vic, studying him. He was small, but those arms showed that he had some strength. His brown hair fell just past his shoulders. Vic's brown eyes watched him back, maybe at one point they had been full of life, but they were dark, tired, sad. There was no spark. The younger boy moved slowly towards Vic, kneeling down beside him. "Hi, I'm Kellin, uhm, I believe I already know who you are." Vic could feel Kellin's hot breath brush his cheek, nervous, he looked away, but not without glancing back at the seemingly breath taking boy in front of him.

Curiosity began to bubble inside him. "Where am I?" Vic had managed to squeak out the words, but not without almost immediately regretting them. Kellin shrugged, smiling crookedly at him. "Where do you think you are?" Vic's eyes pricked, he just wanted answers, not games. "Just tell me." Kellin took in a deep breath, subcontiously fixing his already perfect hair. "Hell. To just put it bluntly."

The mexican boy's eyes shot open as he jumped to his feet. Kellin let out a chuckle at his reaction, "You asked." He stood up, crossing his arms. Vic's eyes glanced around the eery space, breathing quickened as he took in the scenery. It seemed as if the more he found out, the more things started to appear to him. Millions of ghastly bodies wandered aimlessly around him. Feelings of dispair had started to engulf him the closer the souless got to him. It was too much, he couldn't help it as his body started to shake. "Hey! Hey!!" Kellin flicked his fingers in front of Vic, "You okay? You look a bit pale and from what I know about you, that just ain't right." Kellin cocked an eyebrow, amusing himself.

"How is this funny?" Anger smothered the question. Vic's hands tightened into fists. He was beyond angry, and once he gets to this point, all he can do is break down. he hated that about himself, he hated how weak he was. Vic desperately wanted to cry, but it was as if his body couldn't anymore. In sight of all of this, there was still one more burning question,

"Am I dead?" Vic's voice went quieter then it was, the boys eyes met each other. Kellin licked his lips, contemplating what to say, without giving it all away.

"Kells, just tell him already so we can get out of here.." Vic had almost forgotten about the red headed boy that Kellin referred to as Matty. He continued to stand behind Kellin, almost protectively. Kellin shot him an exasperated look before looking back to meet Vic's gaze again. "You look tense Victor."

Little had the tiny mexican noticed, he had stiffened up, frozen into one place, unable to move himself out of fear. But still, he waited for the other boy to answer his question.

Kellin rolled his eyes, "Alright." He placed his left hand on his hip... "Here's the deal... I'm an... angel... I guess." That didn't really come as much of a shock, Kellin didn't look like he belonged here anyway. He shifted hands, "Let's see, you are Victor Fuentes, older brother to Mike Fuentes..." The sound of his brother's name made Vic's heart ache.. "...17 years of age at time of attempted suicide.. talented.."

"Attempted?" Vic blurted it out with out even realizing. The memories were faint, but he knew what Kellin was talking about now and he couldn't help but feel disappointed.

"Oh my god. Can I finish?" Kellin glared at Vic, impatient now. Reluctantly, Vic nodded.

"Trying to kill yourself, well, it wasn't exactly part of the plan that was given to you... so hm.. how does one word this... yes... you're in hell because - "

"Why?? Because I can't get into heaven if I take my own life right?!" He could feel his blood boiling. It wasn't fair to be banished to live an eternity in pain, when he couldn't even bear it for 17 years.

Kellin looked at him, furrowing his eyebrows, "Vicky, seriously, let me finish, please." Vic huffed at the choice of name. Shifting his weight so that most of it was on the other foot. He hadn't noticed it much before, but his body was terribly sore.

"I'm here to 'help' you.." Kellin made air quotations, "I mean, I guess I could say that... There's so much I want to say but can't.. Not yet.. hmm.."

This wasn't making any sense. If he wan't dead, then why was he here.. Vic shook his head, trying to make sense of everything. The memories were nothing but a haze. "w... What.." Vic's voice trailed off... the dry feeling in his throat was worsening, he placed a single hand to his throat. His heart nearly bursting from his chest as he felt the rope burns that had wrapped all the way around.

Once again, his eyes burned.
