It's 4am and she's still awake
Crying silent tears into her hands
Tiredness prolonged, yet fear overwhelming
One she doubts anyone else understands
Her body tells her that she needs to rest
She listens but refuses to hear
Because when her eyes begin to close
That's when ghosts of her past re-appear
She holds her palms tight to her ears
As she sees that little girls cries go unheard
A tiny mouth forced with a handful of pills
Her face ashen and her vision becoming blurred
She feels her blood boil and stomach churning
As she sees that little girls body go numb
Her eyes gently closing through her tears
She knows all to well of what is to come
The odour of stale coffee awake her senses
As she feels his hot breath upon her skin
Knowing that little girl lies there helpless
He rubbed himself as his fingers delved within
The man entered her and pushed in deep
Goosebumps rising, her entire body began to burn
She couldn't bear to watch this happen
But for all her might, this scene would always return
Night after night, just has she had when she was that little girl
His hefty body and her tiredness she'd try to resist
But her past continued to find ways to haunt her
Like this, she knew she could no longer exist
It had happened for years along with his constant threats
That torture or this, she couldn't decipher what was worse
Her mind in overdrive, she knew exactly what she was going to do
She'd finally rid herself of her past and this horrible curse
Her tears suddenly stopped, she wouldnt give him the satisfaction
From the cold coffee she took a sip, along with the sleeping pills prescribed
Ghosts of her past now fading as her life she took
But not before her story and abusers name had been transcribed
