As Emma slept soundly in the early morning, Alessio quietly began preparing breakfast, hoping to surprise her with a warm start to the day. The smell of bacon and freshly brewed coffee filled the kitchen, creating a cozy atmosphere.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang, jolting Alessio from his focused state. He wiped his hands on a towel and went to answer it. To his surprise, standing at the door were Emma's parents. Their presence was unexpected, and Alessio's demeanor shifted from relaxed to cautious.

"Mr. and Mrs. Harper," Alessio greeted them, a slight edge to his voice as he tried to mask his surprise. "What can I do for you?"

Emma's mother looked taken aback to see Alessio, the powerful man she had heard so much about. "We didn't mean to intrude," she said, glancing at her husband. "We were just in the area and thought we'd drop by to see Emma."

Alessio studied their expressions carefully, noting their nervousness and the tension in the air. "Please, come in," he said, stepping aside to let them enter. His mind raced as he considered how to handle the situation. Despite his wariness, he was determined to be polite and respectful, keeping Emma's well-being in mind.

As they walked into the kitchen, Alessio gestured for them to take a seat at the table. He began to prepare coffee for them, trying to maintain a calm demeanor despite his growing concern. "I was just making breakfast for Emma. She's still asleep, but she'll be up soon."

Her father took a seat and eyed Alessio cautiously. "You must be Alessio. I've heard a lot about you. You're quite a figure in the business world, aren't you?"

Alessio gave a nod, trying to keep his tone neutral. "I try my best. It's good to meet you both. Emma speaks highly of you, though she doesn't often talk about you."

Her mother sighed and looked at Alessio with a mixture of sadness and determination. "We're aware of that. Emma and we... we haven't always seen eye to eye. But we want to make things right. We've come to offer our support and to talk about our daughter."

Alessio raised an eyebrow, intrigued and wary. "I see. What would you like to discuss?"

Her father leaned forward, his tone earnest. "We understand Emma's been through a lot, and we know our relationship with her is strained. We've made mistakes, and we're here to acknowledge that. But we want to be a part of her life, if she'll allow it."

Her mother added softly, "We're concerned about her well-being. We've heard how much you care for her, and we want to know more about your intentions and how you plan to support her."

Alessio listened carefully, his gaze steady but guarded. He could sense the genuine concern in their voices, even if their past actions had caused Emma pain. "Emma means a great deal to me," he said. "I am committed to her happiness and well-being. If you truly want to make amends, I hope you can understand that rebuilding trust takes time."

Her father nodded slowly. "We understand. We're willing to put in that effort. We just want what's best for Emma."

Just then, Emma appeared in the doorway, her eyes widening in surprise as she saw her parents and Alessio engaged in conversation. "Mom, Dad?" she said, her voice filled with shock.

Her mother stood up, her expression softening as she approached Emma. "We came to see you, sweetheart. We wanted to talk, to make things right."

Emma's eyes flicked between her parents and Alessio, taking in the scene. She felt a mix of emotions—surprise, frustration, and a reluctant sense of hope. Alessio, sensing her discomfort, stepped closer to her and offered a reassuring smile.
