"Smoke?" The second voice beside me growled.

"What?" A new deep voice meowed.

"We found a newborn wolf in the snow," the voice answered. Then suddenly, I was falling. Falling out of the mouth and onto the dark forest floor, but the powerful jaw was still attached to the flab.

"Good," the deep voice smirked. I tried to pry open my eyes. It was almost time, so why not do it forcefully? After a few minutes of doing that, my eyes finally opened.

I first looked at Smoke as he was called. He was... was... some weird creature that didn't look like me.

"Hello," Smoke greeted cheerfully. I glanced around, scared. "Don't worry, I'm a cat, a black panther." He meowed it slowly.

He was dark, black with amber eyes. A scar ran down his left eye and a chain was attached to his right front leg. Tough guy looking.

"Who are you?" I barked and almost covered my mouth. My voice was rough while theirs was... silky, smooth. Smoke let out a chuckle.

"I'm Smoke, black panther, Alpha Smoke. Alpha of this pack you could say," he answered. His eyes light up and I could practically see a light bulb light up on his head. "SKYLINE!!"

A cat padded in. This one was a deep orange with deep black stripes with a white underbelly. This cat had light cocoa eyes. I didn't know what kind of cat this was.

"Yes?" The silky voice asked, taking a glance at me.

"This is Skyline," Smoke introduced, turning to me. The cat turned to me and I curiously stared at her, then back to Smoke. "She's a tiger!"

"Who's this?" Skyline asked. I glanced at the star tattoo on my paw. It was a sign. A sign that I would be a survivor. I stared again at the she- cat called Skyline.

"What?" Smoke asked and padded over to me. He stared down at my paw. He grinned his toothy grin. "Star! This is Star and you'll be her mother!"
