Confusion

A/N: so, this is why Varun was pissed off on the day he found his little clearing in Lucky Tu Lucky Me. I don't think it would fit well in there, so I put it by itself.

Varun P.O.V
'Varun, do you think I'm too young to be an actress?' Alia asked. I was taken aback by the question.

'No, of course not! You're a brilliant actress.' I told her, not understanding why she would think she's too young.

'Are you sure? I mean you and Sid and Sana and everybody are all in your twenties and I'm seventeen.'

'Alia, you're a brilliant actor. Where did this come from?' Alia was usually very confident. That's why we had clicked so easily. We had become friends the day we met, and now she was my best friend. We were both too confident and that meant we argued a lot, but that made it more fun. We weren't the kind of people that could just agree on everything.

'I don't know. I've just been thinking.' She told me.

'Alia, has someone said something?' I asked. If somebody was making her doubt herself, I would seriously hurt them.

'Maybe...'

'Alia, tell me.'

'Varun, it's fine. I know what you'll do. I don't want either of you to get hurt.' She knows me too damn well.

'Ha, of course you know what I'll do. And I have reason. I've told you, you're my best friend and I don't take anyone messing with you.' I told her.

'Varun, I don't want to put you against him. You're friends, I don't want to play that role. I may play Shanaya, but I'm not actually her.'

'Shanaya?' I had an idea of who she was talking about.

'Oh shit.' Yep. I knew who it was.

'Sid? He's the one who's said something?' I didn't care if Sid was my friend, I would tear into him. Unfortunately, Alia can always read my thoughts on my face.

'Varun, no. You are not going to do anything.'

'Alia, at least let me talk to him.'

'I know what you mean by talk. I will not be the reason you two fight.'

'I just mean talk.'

'Varun...'

'Okay. Fine. I won't.'

'Promise.' Why? Why does she have to do this?

'Promise.' I said, already feeling guilty.

It won't surprise you to find out that I didn't keep my promise. I did wait a couple of days before talking to him, so that Alia would forget. It took me a while to get him by himself. After about four days, I finally managed to find a time to talk to him.

'Sid, can I talk to you for a minute?' I asked.

'Sure.' I led him away from set to an empty room. He looked confused. I shut the door and he looked confused. 'What's up? Is something wrong?' He asked.

'No. Nothing wrong. Just thought we haven't had a chat in a while.'

'Ookay... so, having fun?'

'Yeah. It's fun. We've made some friends, na?'

'Uh, yeah. They're cool people.'
