I was beyond mad. It wasn't because I was about to become the slave to the soon-to-be King of vampires, oh no. It was because I didn't have my sketchbook. The only personal belonging that I owned, aside from clothes. I didn't really have a chance to pack anything and maybe it was safer at home, one of the twins would take good care of it, but on the other hand......

I let out loud angry sigh for 20th time and continued staring out at the giant, dark woods passing by. We were going up a winding road, a wall of rock on one side, trees on the other. I loved the woods, they gave off an earthy scent, like dirt and pine. I could sit in them for hours and never be bored, there were things to explore, to draw. Then sadly, I wondered if I would ever be able to sit in them. I had no idea what would happen once I got there. My mood turned from mad to sad. I guess you could say I was sad-mad. At that thought I smiled and then it dropped as my driver let out an irritated breath.

"Are you going to continue with that..... phase or will I have fix it for you."

His voice washed over me and I completely forgot what I was mad-sad about. I could listen to it all day, it was just so rich and deep.

My head was thrown back as his palm connected with my cheek. A stinging pain spread through it and I tensed, bowing my head, waiting. He snorted. "I forgot how puny humans are. Next time you'll know to answer my question."

I nodded timidly, holding my cheek, and we continued on in silence. He didn't even ask me a question, it was more a threat than anything and I would know, having been threatened my whole life. I got bold and asked, "Um.... s-sir? I-I was w-wondering I-if someone c-could get my t-things from m-my house?" He didn't answer and my heart sunk. I felt his eyes on my face and my hand dropped, gripping my other hand. Sweat was gathering on them and I wrung them together nervously. His eyes went back to the road.

"You can bring one personal item. You will be provided with clothes and other such things. Do you understand?"

A jerky nod followed, " I w-would like t-to b-bring my s-sketchbook." He said nothing. I leaned my head against the door and closed my eyes. Darkness greeted me.

When I woke, we seemed to be coming up on his home. I didn't know how long I was asleep, but I could faintly see pink spreading across the sky, wispy clouds stretching their fingers. A black, wrought iron gate sprang up in front of us. He stopped and the gate opened. I didn't see anything to show that someone lived here, but I was excited when I did show up. Sitting up in my seat, I scooted forward, gripping the dashboard with sweaty fingers. I expected a rebuke from the Prince, but found none. When his home came into view, I was left gasping in awe.

A large white-washed castle sat in front of me. We passed through an arch of stone into a courtyard with a fountain in the middle. A giant dark brown oak door opened, revealing an elderly man in mice black, butler suit. He opened the door for me and I stepped out. Spinning in place to see this fairytale I had been dropped into. Two guard towers sat in opposite corners, towering above the courtyard. Above the entryway was about three more stories, the left side branched off and came back around, it looked like a kitchen maybe. Behind it sat another tower as tall as the castle itself. On the roof sat another tower, though I didn't think I did anything. The whole thing sat on what I assumed was a cliff and it dropped off into more forest. I wanted to visit the kitchen, though looking at it know, was unsure if it even was. I could see the roof, but barely and judging by the height of the courtyard, the branched part was about three stories high. While the rest of the castle was, maybe, five.

I was quite proud of myself for figuring it all out, though I was probably wrong. When I turned to look at the butler and the Prince, I found only the butler. A grey-haired man in his mid-sixties, a round belly and warm green eyes. I instantly liked him. He stepped forward and gestured toward the door.
