Days went by and school went on as usual and Hikaru kept bugging me as usual. I hadn't verbally agreed to hanging out with him but I do hang out with him at times. Turns out, he's a total clown. Despite constantly flirting with girls and being a ladies man, he was actually a really funny guy and a klutz.
Speaking of klutz, my condition is getting worse by the day. My movements are becoming clumsy but not too much. I'm always finding myself falling into either Hikaru's arms, Tooru's, Natsuno's sometimes or on the ground. Not very fun for me, it's more embarrassing. As for my hunger and thirst, I'm feeling it more often, especially when I'm alone and unoccupied.
It was the end of another day and I was taking an evening stroll until I was found and dragged along by Tooru. I knew this day would come, it was inevitable. My fate was sealed the moment I lost. Knowing Tooru wanted privacy, he led me on top of a hill where we could see the sunset. I'm not much of a talker, not unless I felt like it but our conversation went something like this."Good afternoon Arisu-chan,"
"It's not a good afternoon for me,"
"You know, you haven't called me Tooru-kun lately. As a matter of fact, I don't hear you adding the appropriate prefixes at the end of people's names,"
"Not bothered. It takes too long at times and you'll eventually drop the honorifics and stuff. Besides, it's only strangers I use the honorifics on,"
"I see. You do remember our wager, right?"
"What wager, I have no idea what you're talking about,"
"Even the kiss that happened afterwards,"
"I hate you,"
"I know you don't mean it,"
"Whatever,"
"So, onto question one,"
"Go ahead,"
If there's something Tooru knows about me, is that I'm not an entirely open person. He always gets his ways around my walls and defence mechanisms. It irritates me at times. So continuing on...
"So...what's going on with you and Hikaru-san?"
"Nothing, just...friends. How about you and that nurse~"
"I, uh...we're just....uh, fine, you got me. I thought I was asking the questions,"
"There are no rules,"
"Anyways, is there something you want to tell me?"
"Why yes, I thought you'd never ask. I want to leave,"
"So...how's your family?"
"....same as always,"
"So, you're going to stay here?"
"If it means being away from them, then yes,"
"Grandparents know about it?"
"Yep,"
"Anything else,"
"Nope, just usual fights every now and then. Sneaking in and out of the house with no one knowing,"
"I think it's better you stay as well, you know...it's much safer here and you got me as well,"
"......"
"So...what's up?"
"With what?"
"Don't play dumb...you're hiding something,"
"...you won't believe me if I told you,"
"I'll do my best,"
"It's totally weird,"
"I think I can handle it,"
"....."
"Come on, how bad can it be?"
"......I think...I think something's wrong with me, ever since I got sick,"
"What do you mean?"
"I feel weak, sort of hungry...in a weird way and I can grow fangs,"
"Huh?"
"I know vampires and other mythological beings don't exist, no matter how badly I'd want them to, but seriously, it's scientifically impossible,"
"Can you still do it, you know the fangs?"
"No, I can't seem to get the hang of it,"
We had to leave because it was dark. On that same night, the entire village was looking for Megumi and I still couldn't shake the feeling that I was being watched.
