Katrina and Lucy were both getting me ready for my big day. Today is my wedding day. It's supposed to be the day every girl spends her life looking forward to. Most times that would be the case, but not now. Not for me.

When I was around four or five, I was kidnapped. I am now between the ages of 18 and 20. I don't know much about my life before being taken. I don't know; my birth name, correct age, anything really. I can't even remember my parents faces. Since being taken, my captors have been training and grooming me to be the perfect wife to their son whom I have never seen. All I know is, his name is Kotor and I will be marrying him today at noon.

"Alright, Ayden. You're all done. "Katrina was in tears. Kat and Lucy were the closest thing to family I've had. They were also taken by the Malik family. Their only job was to take care of me until I married Kotor. Now that the day has come they will be killed to ensure no one knows of my being held hostage. How am I so sure of this? We've only been told this by Sobvan every day.

I looked into the full body mirror. I'm sure anyone would say I looked beautiful. But I feel nothing. All I see is a lost girl in a white dress.

Lucy draped her arm over my shoulder"Honey, you look stunning." Lucy was like our mother. Originally, Kat was supposed to marry Kotor and Lucy was her caretaker, but Kotor decided at the age of six that he didn't like Kat.

Lucy had tears forming in her eyes, I didn't hesitate to turn around and hug her like she was being ripped away from me this very second. The moment she wrapped her arms around me I broke down in tears. This woman has been there for me every night while I cried myself to sleep. "I am so sorry." I sobbed into her shoulder.

I could hear her sniffles. "Darling, don't ruin your make up." I stood up straight and nodded. When I looked over at Kat she was wiping away the last of her tears.

I opened my mouth to apologize to her again but we were interrupted by Trisha. "Oh my." She gaped with a huge smile on her face. I turned my back to her and faced the mirror again. "Ayden, you've grown into such a beautiful young woman." She was standing directly behind me and staring at me through the mirror.

"Thank you Ma'am." I said flatly.

She chuckled, "Oh, no, I'm mum now." The last time I've actually seen Trisha was about six years ago when I had grown out of all my clothes and she had make more.

She looks the same now as she did then, if not younger. The Malik family is loaded, I wouldn't be surprised if she had any surgeries. "Ladies, why don't you leave me and my new daughter alone for a bit, yeah?"

Me and the two made eye contact through the mirror. Something told me this would be the last time I ever see them. Lucy walked out first I can tell she was crying again. Before Kat turned to leave she mouthed ' we love you'. I almost started to cry as I watched her long blond hair wave behind her as she walked away.

Now that we were alone, Trisha no longer had a smile on her face. She now had a look of sympathy. "Come Ayden." She took my hand and led me to the sofa against the wall.

She drew in a deep breath before speaking. "It's only fair that you know this. Kotor , he is a good guy, I raised him right," She took a long pause. I just know she's going to tell me some bad news. "But he has a temper like his father. "

My stomach was in knots that even the boy scout couldn't untie. It was finally time. The wedding music had already started. On the other side of this door was the man who my life has been given to. After my talk with Trisha I am dreading this marriage even more then before.

I tried to ease my mind with thoughts of Lucy, Kat and I being back in our little house. Dancing or baking, anything we'd do to forget the fucked up life we were living.

The large white doors opened and my heart stopped. There were only about 50 people in the room, but all their eyes were locked on me. As I walked down the isle I looked in the rows of people for Lucy or Kat. They weren't here. My heart started to ache thinking about why they must not be here. It wasn't until I was at the alter that saw Kotor. I'm not sure what I was expecting him to look like, but this wasn't it. His big brown eyes and smile made him look innocent and sweet.

The entire ceremony I kept my head down. When it came time for me to repeat my vows I did, My voice held no emotion what-so-ever.

"Mr. Malik, you may kiss your bride."

Kotor lifted my chin so I was looking him in the eye. He kissed me with what I assumed to be passion while I stood there numbly.

It's official, I am now Ayden Malik.
