Raine's POV

As Jayquan promised, he picked me up after school and brought me home to get ready for the date tonight. I was kind of nervous and I couldn't tell when last I went out with a boy, not since I changed schools, which was like three years ago.

I walked over to my closet and went through my assortment of dresses. Should I wear something sexy and revealing or something sexy and modest. I let out a sigh, choices, choices.

I decided to go with something nice and not too revealing. I picked up the dress, went in front of the mirror to see how it would look.

Perfect.

I placed it on the bed and went to find my bright pink wedges. I was feeling very girly this evening, I've only ever worn those shoes once and it was on a dare. Pink looked good on me but to me it was totally not my color, dark colours were the best.

I took off my robe and slipped the dress on to my body. It fit perfectly and flared off without making me look fat, just the look that I was going for.

"Raine! You're date's here." Shouted my Mon from downstairs.

"I'll be down in a minute!" I quickly put on some concealer, a little blush and a dab of cherry blossom lip gloss.

Jayquan was waiting for me at the door, his back was turned to me. He was wearing a pair of black True Religion jeans and a black Ralph Lauren button up shirt. The all black look he had going on was really complementing his light skin.

"Hey." He spun around upon hearing my voice and the look on his face had me giggling. "Nervous, are we?"

He didn't answer he only looked me up and down appreciatively.

"Damn." He mumbled.

He stood there for a while staring at me.

"You done checking me out, boo?"

"Damn, you look...wow." I laughed at his cuteness.

I wrapped my arm through his elbow and led him back to the car.

"Did ya always look dis fine?" He asked.

"Shut up." My face heated up as I blushed profusely.

"Baby girl blushin' 'cuz I gave her a compliment. Looks like am gon' have to start givin' you compliments mo often."

I blushed even more at his words.

"Okay let's get going." We got in his car and he drove off.

We pulled up at a nice restaurant just outside of town. The place was absolutely beautiful. Being the gentleman he is Jayquan opened the car door for me and led me inside.

"So what do ya think?" He asked me, he seemed a little nervous for my answer because he had a look of uncertainty on his face.

"It's amazing." I said to him. I was a little dumb for words but the smile that lit up his face was enough for me to know that I didn't have to say anything else.
