Troublesome Love Chapter 5

“God. You’re so cute.”

*Harry’s P.O.V.*

After I said that, I froze. That wasn’t meant to come out. I opened my mouth to say something but nothing came out. “You think I’m cute?” she said with a smile. “Um… yeah. I guess I do.” I said trying to avoid eye contact. “Well, I kind of think your cute, too.” “Really?” I said as my head shot up. She nodded. We got lost in each others eyes. I don’t care how much time passed. I hadn’t come to me that after each second that passed, we were leaning in closer to one another. Our lips were just inches away… Ring! Her phone went off. I sucked in a sharp breath as she moved away and grabbed her phone.

“Hello?… At the library… No… Yeah… Okay… Bye love you, too Dad.” she said into the phone before she hung up. “Um… sorry, Harry. I gotta go. My Dad needs me home.” she said awkwardly probably because of what was about to happen if her phone didn’t go off. “Okay. I’ll see you tomorrow.” I said gathering my homework. “Yeah. You better go to school.” she said getting up with a small smile. I chuckled and nodded and got up, too. “Do you need a ride back to your group home?” she asked going through her purse. “Um… yeah. Sure.” Damn. This awkward. We walked outside into the parking lot. Fortunately Antonio left and didn’t see me with her.

We got into her car and she started to drive. I was looking at her almost the entire time. She looked so focused. I was so caught up watching her, that I didn’t even notice that she drove a Prius. Holy shit. “Y/N? How did you afford a car like this?” I said looking around the car. “Oh… um… My Dad. He’s in the army. He joined about 5 years ago and he feels bad for being away a lot so he got me this as a present.” she said kind of embarrassed. She slowed down and turned into the group home parking lot. “Here we are.” she said looking at the group home through her window.

I got out and she drove away. Why couldn’t her Dad just wait a few more minutes? I would’ve been somewhere other than the friend-zone with Y/N. Maybe it was for a reason. We only met yesterday. I gotta get to know her better first. I could ask her if I could go to her house this weekend to study. She knows a lot about me but I only know a little about her. Okay, tomorrow I’m going to ask her but for now I’m going to finish my homework and go to bed. Maybe I’ll clean up a bit here, too. I’ll do that when I’m finished with my homework. What is wrong with me?

I woke up early and got ready for school. It was a lot easier to find stuff now that my room was clean. I came out of my room and ran into some staff member. “Oh Styles, remember that Y/N is coming today so try not to be a douche. Okay?” she snapped at me. I nodded while giving her a glare. I walked down the hall and going to the kitchen. I stole some toast from inside the kitchen. Which they don’t even care if I do. As long as I’m eating something that they cooked. Which they really didn’t cook it. They just put it in a toaster and then, they spread butter on it. I walked out of the building and started walking to school. Maybe today will be easier than yesterday.

Through out the whole day I’ve had almost every girl flirt with me. It’s so annoying! Why can’t they get the picture that I don’t like them? They’re so stubborn. Yeah, sure Y/N is stubborn but she has a reason to be. They don’t. She’s trying to help while they try to me to do some stuff that is the exact opposite! Well, anyway I just got back into my room and in about an hour Y/N will be here. Now, how am I going to ask her. It’s not like I’m asking her on a date. I’m just asking if I can go to her house to study this weekend. That’s all. Quit being so nervous! Before I knew an hour was up and the door opened.

“Harry?” I heard her say. I turned around in my chair to face her. “ Don’t you ever knock?” I said jokingly. She just giggled and sat on my bed. “You cleaned?” she asked and I just nodded. She asked me the required questions that were on her clipboard. Did you go to school?, Did you smoke anything today?, Have you had any alcohol at all today?, etc. After we covered those questions, we started on my homework. We got about half of it done and then I stopped. “Hey, Y/N?” “Yeah?” she asked keeping her eyes on the text book trying to find the right page for me. “This weekend can I come over so we can study?” I said as she finally lifted her to look at me. “Yeah, sure! Do you want to come over tomorrow or Saturday?” she asked as I felt about 100 pounds being lifted off of me.

“Um… tomorrow if that’s fine with you?” she nodded and smiled. “Hey, I know it’s none of my business but what did your dad need yesterday?” after I said that she looked as if she was going to cry. “Oh… I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to-” “No. No, it’s fine. He’s going away for about a month. He’s going to be a Sargent at this boot camp in Chicago. I’m used to him going away but this may sound stupid but I’m always scared that somethings going to happen to him. Even though it’s boot camp, anything can happen.” she said smiling sadly. “What? No, it’s not stupid. You just care about him a lot. There’s nothing wrong with that. He’s probably just as scared somethings going to happen at home when he’s gone.”

She smiled and said, “Thanks Harry. But now that’s got me thinking somethings going to happen at home.” she said laughing. “Sorry.” I said chuckling along with her. Right when I was about to say something, her phone went off. It was her alarm. Time for her to leave. We got up and she hugged me goodbye. And in which I hugged her back quickly. We let go and made her way to the door.

“I’ll be here around 4 to pick you up.” she said walking out the door.

A/N: Sorry it took so long. I had a migraine and to get rid of it, I had to take a nap and even when I woke up I still had it so then, I had to lay down for about an hour. So what do you think is going to happen?
