I was sitting in the waiting area of the airport for our flight to Delhi, I had a book on Paris in my hand and two bags. I looked towards the coffee shop near the bookstore, Gautam was getting us coffee, he knew how much i loved the smell of it. I looked at him, he was the perfect guy. Perfect in every aspect, I quietly thanked my stars for I had him by my side. My eyes glittered as he came towards me. I looked at him and smiled, he passed the coffee towards me as he sat by my side.

"Cappuccino, with extra sugar. Just how you like it." He said.

I couldn't help but smile at him. We were together, we were one.

"Thank you, Is our flight late?" I asked.
"Yeah. They said it's the fog."
"Oh." I smiled at him.

Things were not always like this, I was one of the overly cautious, anxiety stricken girls and he, well he was the handsome and carefree boy next door. I still remember, it was the morning of new year's eve. My mother kept screaming at me from down the hall as i covered my ears with my pillow, begging for another minute of sleep.

"Natasha, get up!" My mom screamed.

"Mummy, 5 mins."

I was finally getting my last 3 minute nap before my alarm screamed again, when i felt the bed sheet being pulled away from my body.

"No, No, No!" I screamed as I tried pulling it back.

"Natasha, Your mother will kill us both if you don't get up now." Dad said.

We were both very well versed with mom's anger, she will scream, shout, claw and throw her chappal at us when she's angry, not to mention she'll also not give us our food. I sat up on the bed with a jerk. We did not want to face mom's wrath, especially on the last day of the year.

"Good girl." Dad patted my head as he walked towards the door.

"And a very good morning to you too."

The last day of the year, and i still don't get enough sleep.

I look at the clock by my bed and sigh. I get down from the bed, pulling my jacket over my chest as i walk towards the balcony.

"The last day of the year."

I take in a breath of air, which i quickly cough off when i realize it's only the smell of fishes mixed with rotten garbage. 364 days have passed, nothing changed. I pick up my phone to check any new messages, mails, anything, I knew it was useless. The only people who actually call me daily are Airtle and Neha. I decided to break the stereotype and call Neha.

"Hello, hello." I spoke in multiple tones.

I could hear Neha giggle on the other end.

"Someone's up very early today."

"Last day of the year. Have to do something good."

"Yeah."  I said in an uninterested way.

"Listen, party at my place tonight. Okay?"

"Uh.I don't know ma won't allow."  I lied, I just didn't want to be around too many people.

"You keep forgetting the fact that I've known you since forever, I talked to ma and dad, they agreed. You have a cupboard full of clothes so no excuses."

I was shocked at the fact that she knew so much. I tried to look for another excuse but I couldn't.

"But, you know i won't get any taxi's around tonight."
