Once upon a time there was a girl with flowing brown hair and captivating green eyes who lived in a big big house with her mother her father and her overprotective older brother. She had loads of friends in school, her best friend was a flamboyant gay guy called Dimitri who always slept over at her house and helped her pick out her clothes and they were the most loved people in school, the girl grew up and fell in love with a lawyer from New York, Dimitri found a hunky British guy who swept him off his feet and they all lived happily ever after...

I wish that's how this story went, the typical happy ending kind of story where the girl falls in love and has a best friend who she's been best friends with since birth and they've never fought and they have a tree house that only they know about, you know the ones, I'm sure you've read one at some point, but I guess the fates were having a bad day when they decided how my life would turn out because I got a deadbeat mother who left me on my abusive fathers doorstep because she was too posh to have a child out of wedlock and she had more important things to deal with like how she would explain her 9 month absence to her posh country club friends and a brother who ran away as soon as he turned 18 and left me behind to take the beatings, some family they are. I also drew the short straw when it came to friends and my love life which are both practically non existent unless you count books or that fat kid who kissed me in junior infants for kiss tag. And I know I know some people have it worse, at least I have a house yada yada yada. Just because I don't have the worst life you can possibly imagine doesn't make my problems any less important or hard to deal with. On a lighter note this is the story of how I finally got my happily ever after.
