Sebastian's POV
He hugged me. I didn't know why but, in his sleep, he came closer and laid his head on my chest. It was one of my sleepless nights, I was lying in our bed, looking at the white ceiling without seeing anything. It was raining, I could hear a faint 'plic, plic, plic' on our big window. I can't even remember what I was thinking about...nothing and everything.
Then he turned himself with a light groan. Now I could feel his breath, warm and soft on my shoulder. I faintly smiled and glared at him. He looked like a boy, harmless. A thunder shaked the glass and illuminated the room.
Suddently, Jim started shaking, I felt his heart accellerating, his breath shortening...I glanced at his thin figure, his face had an intense expression as the shivering became more and more violent. I streched my hand to touch him: he seemed ice. He was panting as he had ran miles and miles, almost completely out of breath. When I tried to come closer, he did. He hugged me, still shaking. Another thunder lit the room as I ran my fingers in his black messy hair, going down to the temple, the cheeckbone, the jaw...
I saw a smile, on his lips. "Are you awake, James?" I whispered and he slowly nodded. He opened his eyes, with a little effort:"Tiger..." his voice was trembling, too.A lightning shined through the window. His smile became just a shadow as I asked:"Were you having a nightmare?" "Yes..." his dark eyes seemed to be looking at the void when he nodded lightly. Then he glared up, at my eyes:"It was terrible..." he muttered.
I smiled, my hands warming his back:"What were you dreaming...?". He shut his eyes, the smile had left his lips:"It was horrible, Seb..." he said in a dark voice."We have all night..." I muttered calmly, staring down at my psychopath: I wasn't afraid of his demons. He suddently opened his eyes, like he was visualizing it in his mind:"I was so cold, everything was grey and dark...the only colour I could see was the bright, red blood" I studied him as he broke the contact, lowering his eyes, he usually liked the blood and he usually dreamed about it, it was a normal thing in his dangerous mind...so why this time it scared him to death?
"Whose blood was it?" I wanted to find out, he glared up at me and shivered:"Y-yours" his voice was broken, his eyes scared. I lowered my head and kissed him gently. "It was just a scene, like a picture, but it moved. I remember your pale body, covered in this red. I didn't know how and why, I just ran, away. Shadows were chasing me, no matter how fast I ran, they were always behind me, my demons." his words words were dry, he interrupted himself and looked at the window, at the city. I wondered how he saw it, what was the criminal mastermind thinking when he observed the world, full of lost souls hopeless chasing the idea of happiness.
He looked away, and broke the silence whispering like he was talking to himself:"It looked so real..."- He glanced at his hand, it was shaking:"Look..." he pulled it up "I'm weak, if world could see me now, James Moriarty, the world's most dangerous criminal mastermind, who gets defeated by a bad dream, like baby.". I felt the bitterness in his voice and suddently felt dirty, like something heavy and filthy climbed up to my chest, I felt horribly guilty. I muttered:"It's my fault. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry James." "No, no." he cut off "You are worth it, Seb". He smiled up at me, I was speechless:"Am I?" I stuttered. His smile became wider, his other hand caresssed softly my jaw and neck:"Yes, of course you are, idiot!" he laughed and kissed me again.
"You're worth everything, every waiting, every suffering...I would do everything to have you in-" he grinned, that perfect bastard. I understood, and started laughing violently:"Jim!". "Okay, I know, I'm so funny but really Sebastian" he looked straight into my eyes, serious "Don't you even try to think to leave me" his eyes had the usual strange and dangerous look, but his expression was gentle "Because I would do everything in my power to-" "Shut the fuck up!" I blurted and kissed him roughly.
He was a complete idiot, but he was mine. And I knew that, when he starts to talk in that way, he must be stopped. Since we were both awake, I took off my shirt: I needed his touch. He smiled, he wasn't shaking anymore, he was relaxed, like if the nightmare was just...a nightmare. And the lost souls were miles and miles away from our room; in that filthy, boring world.
