[A/N: I'm terribly sorry I'm such a procrastinator I haven't been writing.]

Chapter Six~ Harry

Although it had been a bit awkward before, my outburst seemed to have lightened things up and we stayed much later than intentended. Carly had loosened up a bit, but I still didn't like the fact that it was mostly around Louis, of all people. He knew I was the reason she was here, and in that knowledge he shouldn't have been stealing her away from me every moment I had even the slightest chance of making conversation. I had a feeling Carly still didn't like me, and was weary of my presence whenever I got too close. I noticed how she had been nervous at the music store the other day, also. Why was that? It was beyond me. [A/N: Hehe inside joke. Caroline, Remember? :)]

I felt a small gust of wind behind me as I walked up the path to the flat I shared with Louis, and I turned around slowly, only to see a short girl with chestnut brown hair and chocolate brown eyes. She smirked at me, hands on her hips. Slowly, I turned my body fully around to face her- whoever this girl was. She walked forward, her converse hitting the pavement softly. She moved swiftly, almost ninja-like. She stopped just a short distance from me, her face now completely serious. She pointed at me accusingly, "Are you Harry?"

"U-um, yes, I am. You are-?" I was shocked, to say the least. This girl knew me, which wasn't much of a shock, as I was famous, but the way she addressed me was very rude, and protective, but over what?

"I'm Caroline, Carly's roommate. Do you really think you get just get to her? I've tried, for four years, There's no use in trying to pry into her life, it'll just leave you disappointed." The short girl said, her voice sounding now pained and rejected, but still that protective tone to it. She must really care about Carly. Only, this little 'talk' with Caroline only made me want to know Carly even more than before. Carly seemed so.. interesting.

"I'm sorry, Caroline, I didn't know. It's just, she seems so," I paused for a moment, thinking of the word. "Lost. I can tell she's empty, and something happened, but when I saw her play, and her voice, she was a completely different person. Please, just let me try."

Caroline paused, contemplating this. Her eyebrows furrowed, her teeth taking her bottom lip between them, biting softly. Within a moment, she looked up into my eyes, nodding almost unnoticeably. I wouldn't have noticed if hadn't been looking at her.

"Just, be careful with her. Please." She whispered, before turning away and disappearing into the night once again. It was past midnight and my tiredness was taking over. Clumsily, I unlocked the door to my flat and stumbled inside as if I were drunk. I locked the door behind me-with some struggle- and stepped into the kitchen, setting my keys on the marble countertop. I slid off my shoes and set the in the basket beside the front closet. Turning around, I made me way up the steps to my bedroom, shedding my clothes and replacing them with gym shorts. I peeled the covers of the bed away, sliding in between them.

Soon enough, I drifted into a dreamless sleep.

"Should I wake him?"

"Yes, idiot!"

"B-but, he's going to kill me! You do it!"

"Can you guys just shut up and get out? I'm up already, no thanks to you Lou." I grumbled, throwing a pillow blindedly in the direction his voice came from. Judging from the grunt and whine he produced, I had hit him. He kept complaining, pretending I'd wounded him gravely, and I had to apologize. Well, he woke me up.

I turned to Niall, who was also in the room with us, and who Louis had been arguing with. I gave him a look, and he instantly pulled the Doncaster boy out of the room so I could get ready. We had recording today, and I also planned to see if Carly would like to come.

I hadn't stopped thinking about her, no matter what. Ever since I'd heard her singing, I hadn't been able to shake her from my mind. This girl, she was different. She didn't care that we were celebrities, she treated us like normal teenage boys-though Louis was technically a young adult, as were Zayn and Liam- and we enjoyed that. She hadn't cared that she had been around five of the most popular lads in the world, she just joked around and had fun like any normal friend. She was prying her way into my mind, and she didn't even know it.

"Are you sure?" She asked, uncertainty clear in her voice. I held my phone between my ear and shoulder, slipping on my shoes as she talked. Finally, I had gotten my shoes on and took the phone back into my hand. "Of course, they're already in love with you, it's not like you need to prove anything a second time." I chuckled at her nervousness, her hesitation to join the lads and I during recording for our movie.

"Fine, pick me up in twenty?" She suggested, to which I agreed. We said our farewells, hanging up. I waited around, leaving ten minutes later. I parked outside her flat, only a minute or two early. I fiddled with my thumbs, waiting patiently. Soon, I saw her walking toward the car, a small smile displayed on her face. I could tell it was partically forced, but still had a tweak of truth in it. She leaned down, signaling for me to roll down the window. I did as I was told, rolling it down in confusion.

"Is something wrong?" I asked, concern laced in my voice. She chuckled, shaking her head slightly.

"No, I was just wondering, would it be okay if my brother came? He's only in town for a few days before he's back to America." She seemed embarrassed to ask, which I found extremely cute. After a few seconds, I nodded, still laughing at her shyness. She motioned to her flat, making a gesture for him to come here. I could see him peering out the window, waiting for my reaction. He smiled, rushing outside to the car. We gave each other the once over, staring each other in the eyes. I flinched, making him blink and flinch away in return. I smiled, looking over at carly, who had sat down next to me in the passenger seat, shaking her head with a smile tugging her lips up. Her brother slid into the back seat, buckling up quickly.

"So, what's your name?" I asked, looking in the review mirror.

"Austin. I already know yours, Mr. Styles." He commented, silence sinking into the air. I looked at Carly, to which she just shrugged. This was going to be an interesting day.

I'm terribly sorry I never update, I just don't exactly have plans for books. This is why I always quit books, I have the start, the plot,, and how it ends up, but I just don't know how to get the characters there. That, I really need to work on.

I'll try to update by the end of the week. I'm really sorry to keep making you wait, even though not many people read this. I'm almost to 100 reads, so thank you for that.

Please, could you tell your friends to read this? I'd really appreciate it.
