Drinking a glass of cool water, I couldn't help but to think about the plans I had waiting ahead for me that day — 12:53PM. I gulped the last of the water as I patiently waited for Chloe to get dressed upstairs. I had made reservations to take her to my favorite lunch spot for a date.  I didn't recall the last time I had felt nervous. Anxiety running through my veins, I had never really gone on a real date before. Strange enough, I was twenty. Clearly, to the normal mindset, it'd be sad to hear that come out of the mouth of a twentieth year old guy.

In the pocket of my jeans, I felt a vibration hitting against my leg. I reached into the pocket to slip my phone out. Quickly tapping answer, I held the device up to my ear, hearing muffled sounds in the background, regretting that I didn't check the caller ID prior to answering.

"Hello?" I answered, unsure of who it could possibly be.

"Well, if it isn't my favorite brother." The voice teased through the phone.

"What do you want, Damien?" I hissed in return.

"World peace."

"Stop fucking around." I gulped to myself. I couldn't imagine what he'd need from me.

"I need you to do a couple of favors."

I sighed. "I'm busy."

"You have no choice." He said sternly, "You haven't properly worked for me in months. I guess that's why you're running out of money."

"I don't need money." I lied, guiltily kicking at the tiles on the floor in a gentle way.

"I've never heard anyone say that in my entire life." He grumbled. "That's a huge ass lie."

"Why do you even care?"

There was a slight pause in his voice. All I could hear was the sound of Chloe getting herself ready upstairs, fishing through the various items.

"Cut the bullshit. It's just a simple task." I heard a heavy sigh through the phone. "I just needed you to go to Toronto and pick up my package from Joey, then go back to the warehouse and set it up. That's all I want you to do. Is that too much to ask?"

"Yes." I blurted out.

"You are still working for me, little brother. Whether you like it or not, I have to take care of you. This is how."

"I don't need anyone to take care of me."

"You know deep down that you do need me, after all I'm your big brother. You don't want to lose your only brother, right?"
