Love is Lost

The blood is slowly pouring out of him, theres no way to stop it. Magnus pulls his boyfriend Alec onto his knee and holds him close, Magnus has never felt this much pain.

'Please don't leave me Alec, please.' He starts to beg. As he watches his one true love on the floor, he can feel his purpose in life slipping. He wishes he never broke up with him, it seems silly now with him lying here dying. Alec is dying. Magnus can't imagine his life without Alec.

His eyes start to flutter shut. Magnus shakes Alec. 'You can't leave me!'

Alec coughs out a laughs and blood rolls down his chin. 'Just let me go, Magnus, it'll be okay.' Magnus can't handle seeing Alec like this anymore. The tears are uncontrollable now, once they start he knows they will never stop.

He just notices that everyone has started to surrounding them with pale faces, they look like ghosts. They all lost someone today,

When Izzy heard Alec had been injured, she runs. She can't bare to lose another brother, she hasn't breathed for what seems like forever.

Her heart stops. She sees Magnus holding a body, the body of her brother.

She makes her way towards the crowd, she hears someone say 'You don't want to see this.' People call her name but she feels numb. All she needs is to see Alec.

Alec. Her big protective brother. When she sees him up close. She knows that he isn't just injured, he's dying. She falls to her knees in front of Magnus and Alec. She's surprised that her rib cage bones haven't broke with impact of thumps as her heart hits off her ribs.

He is a mess, his face is covered in blood. Izzy can tell that he has been coughing up blood. His eyes are shut and Magnus is holding him in his arms. Magnus doesn't look up at Izzy, his cat like eyes don't move for Alec's face.

The slight movement of his chest that suggests his breathing is weak. It's slowing every minute. She puts her hand out slowly and puts it on his chest.

'Alec.' She whispers. 'Please, don't leave us yet.'

She sees Alec as her six year old brother, pushing her the swing. She sees him as a ten year old that wants to be the best shadowhunter there is. She sees him as he struggles with his sexuality and the only person he trusted was her. She can't lose him.

Her eyes flutter open. He's too weak to even open his eyes. 'Izzy, is that you?'

'Yes Alec, yes it's me Izzy.' She can't help but try to embrace him with a hug.

'Izzy, it's okay.' He mumbles. She can tell just talking is making him even weaker.

'Don't worry. I'll keep care of Max.' He goes limp in Magnus' arms. His eyes don't move from the ceiling. Magnus starts to scream and rocks back and forth with her dead brother's body. He makes noises that can only be described as an animal's cry.

Izzy can't feel anything. She can't let herself feel because if she does, she knows that she won't be able to handle it.

Alec is dead.
