We pulled up outside the very familiar house. I was home. The grass was a lot longer than it was the last time i was here. This house had been vacant since my parents died. "You sure you want to do this?" Damon asked from beside me. I nodded.

"I have to if i'm going to find what i'm looking for" he nodded.

We got out of the car and everyone else followed. Damon grabbed my hand and we walked up the drive and i opened the door. It was just the way i remembered it. My parents coats were still hung on their pegs near the front door. Tears prickled my eyes but i blinked them away before they could fall.

"Lets split up. Damon and I will take upstairs. The rest of you split up and take downstairs and the garden. Look for anything unusual or suspicious." everyone nodded and split up. I

followed Damon upstairs. We searched Matt's room first but found nothing.

Next we searched my parents room, it took all of my strength not to burst out crying when we walked in, there was nothing in there either.

We searched the bathroom before heading to my room. It was exactly the way i had left it. This was the last room upstairs.

We looked everywhere, the last place we searched was my vanity table. I opened the top drawer on the right and looked through it. at the bottom of the drawer I found a false bottom.

"That's weird" I said out loud.

"What's wrong?" Damon appeared behind me in an instant.

"This drawer has a false bottom. It's never been there before"

Damon took the drawer out of the vanity table. He placed it on my bed. "You're sure the false bottom wasn't there before?"

"Yes. I'm sure" curiosity and fear showed in my eyes. I walked over to the bed and knelt down. Damon stood over me watching as I opened the false bottom. My eyebrows raised in confusion at what was in the drawer. It was an envelope. I picked it up. It was a crisp white envelope and on the front it read 'Elena'

Hey guys. So sorry I haven't updated the book in a while. I've been really busy trying to settle into college and spending Christmas with my family. Plus I've had writers block.
