Pt. 2

I looked up and saw Calum. He looked tired and sweaty. He was wearing a t-shirt with shorts and running shoes. He took his ear buds out.

"Why are you at the park by yourself?" He laughed. "Aren't you a bit too old for that?"

"Go away." I couldn't help but laugh. He sat in the swing next to me.

"I thought we're too old for the swing." I mocked him.

"I'm barely 14. Its okay." He sighed and pushed back and forth.

"14?!" I asked. Calum was 14? I thought he was around Luke's age.

"Just kidding. 17." He smirked.

"Thank god." I laughed. Calum's really funny.

"So why are you at the park alone? Its almost dark. It could be dangerous." He said on a more serious tone.

"I was feeling a little down so I came here to think. Were you running?" I questioned, looking at his outfit.

"Jogging. I live close by so I jog around the neighborhood almost everyday. I always pass this park."

"Oh. I live close too." I told him, pointing towards the direction of my house. He nodded.

"So why are you sad?" Calum asked, looking at me but I stared straight ahead.

"None of your buisness." I mumbled.

"I know why." He whispered but I heard.

"Why?" I looked at him. I doubt he knows. Why would he anyways?

"Its Luke and Gracie isn't it?" He surprised me. I didn't think he would know.

"Yeah." I looked away.

"You saw it too?"

"Yeah. When he came in he said hi to Gracie not me first. I always say hi to him first but this was the first time he spoke to Gracie. Obviously cause I like him. But when I finished taking his drink... He quickly walked over to Gracie and looked at her make his drink. When I finished ordering yours you didn't even care about her. You just talked to Luke. Thats how I know he likes Gracie."

"Yeah. How long have you been crushing on Luke?" Calum asked. Might as well tell him.

"Its funny. I'm sad over a boy that I've only liked for about 2 years." I laughed.

"Its not bad. I'm sorry. I l-" He quickly stopped.

"What?" I asked.

"Forget that. But I'm sorry to hear that." He gave me an apologetic look.

"You're lying. Why would I believe you?" I gave out a small laugh.

"No I really am." He said. Why do I actually believe him?

"Its cool." I replied. "Oh. And here's your $10 back."

"What? It was a tip. Keep it." He stood up and straightened himself.

"Thanks..." I smiled.

"I'm gonna go back to jogging now. Go home."

"Fine." I stood up and headed home.

"Good girl."

"Wait Calum!" I turned around.

"What is it." He asked.

"Thanks for saying bye."

"Whatever. Only so you don't cry like a little wuss."
He rolled his eyes. But I could see him smile.
