My Life Was Perfect, Why Did You Have To Change It?

"Natalie Gorge, please come to the office. Natalie Gorge." The secretary's voice buzzed and scratched over the school's cheap, yet overly used intercom. My teacher, Mrs. Hambrook sighed, for this was only the 50th time that thing went off during her class.

"Go ahead and go Natalie. Just don't take to long if it isn't necessary." She said with an annoyed tone. Her snaggle tooth showing due to the fact that she was emphasizing her words. I nodded and picked up my stuff. I laughed as I opened the door, hearing the cackling of the intercom yet again. I walked the short distance to the office and opened the door. I looked around and saw my aunt and uncle sitting in the waiting chairs.

"Holly? Steve? W-what are you guys doing here?" I only reacted like this because I haven't seen or talked to them since I was 7 when something between my mom and Holly. I didn't know what it was but apparently it was bad enough for them to never want to speak to eachother again.

Holly's eyes we're all read and puffy. Steve was carrasing her hand as she began to speak with a shaky voice. "Nat," She began using my old nickname that I've tried so hard to get rid of. But i let it slide. I could tell this was serious. "Today, there was a shooting. It was in the subway your parents usually take. And well, there we're no surviors honey." She kept talking, but I didn't hear anything. After that all I rember is everyone saying my name, as I feel into blackness.
